Not sure what this is -- some freestyle thingamagig.  Is it a short story?  A poem?  A pory?  (story/poem combo word I just made up) The idea for it just popped into my head earlier today, so I'm nervously sharing it ;-)

MONDAY, I met you.

Colliding along our journey in opposite directions.

The filled bag you had with you dangerously swung,

I reached out to prevent it from falling.

The moment I gazed into your soulful eyes, I fell.

 .

TUESDAY, I called you.

Loquacious, we chatted for quite a while.

Purple was your favorite color,

Bacon cheeseburgers your favorite food,

You were the youngest of four girls,

You've always wanted to perform karaoke,

Yet too shy.

 .

WEDNESDAY, I phoned you for a date.

You were unable to speak long,

As you had tests and an appointment.

However, I hung up beaming, as you said yes.

 .

THURSDAY, I knocked on your door.

You were self conscious about your gown.

I truthfully responded that you looked beautiful,

And proceeded to take you for a ride.

A nearby cafeteria style eatery our destination,

I surprised you with bacon cheeseburgers,

Fries, thick shakes and karaoke.

Other diners joining in on the fun,

I talked you into several duets.

 .

FRIDAY, I got my butt whipped.

We spent the day playing every board game you owned,

And you won all of them except one round of Scrabble.

I still believe you let me win it.

 .

SATURDAY, I kissed you.

It poured, and as you watched the drops fall,

I mostly watched you, falling deeper,

Falling in love with you so effortlessly.

And so I scooted my chair closer,

Gently turned your face toward mine,

And tasted a mouth so sweet, honey couldn't compare.

 .

SUNDAY, I held you.

You stayed in bed,

I spooned you, occasionally kissing the back of your head,

Through the silk covering it.

Neither of us talkative that day,

We did speak in between napping.

I whispered that I loved you at one point.

My lips twitched into a brief smile,

As you declared you loved me too.

 .

MONDAY, I lost you.

I knew it the moment I arrived at your door,

Watched you, so still in your bed.

Not wanting to intrude, I moved to return to my room,

When your mother caught my hand.

 .

MONDAY, I kissed you one last time.

Amongst the sniffles and quiet sobs of your loved ones,

I leaned next to your bed,

Trailing my fingers along a still warm cheek.

I silently prayed for you to have a pleasant journey above the clouds,

And thanked you for giving me the best seven days of my life.
