Summary: Kageyama absolutely does not want his child to be near the devil. Unfortunately, he has no choice. OR Karasuno and Seijoh practice match

“Are you sure you can't Miwa? Like a hundred percent sure?” asked Kageyama for the nth time over the phone.

“Yes, Tobio.” and he was amazed that his sister still had the patient tone on her. “Look, as much as I adore Aki-chan, I can't come over, all the way from Tokyo to look after the brat for like an hour. And yes, I want to see you but I still gotta do work here. Sorry baby bro.” and she genuinely did sound apologetical.

See, the current situation here was that Kageyama needed someone to look after Akito since Karasuno was going to have a practice match with Seijoh and Tobio needed someone to look after his son for a while.

“It's fine.” he sighed defeatedly. Now what?

“Look, I really don't wanna point out the obvious.” she said in her, ‘I want to point out the obvious’ voice. “But why don't you bring the kid to the practice match? Didn't you say that Karasuno loved the kid?”

So you see, yeah Tobio had thought about it but then he remembered Oikawa and had blatantly refused to have his kid near the devil.

And second of all, whilst Karasuno absolutely adored Akito, Tobio didn't think the feeling was mutual. He had seen the kid give them nasty stares when he thought he was being sneaky and the only people he seemed to like were Takeda, Ukai, Kiyoko and Yachi. To make it even worse the kid wouldn't even tell him why he was so upset at his team.

Yachi had managed something about kids being possessive of their mother's love, especially if they were single but all that had done was confuse Tobio even more.

“Look, I refuse to have my kid near the devil, k?”

“Listen, I know you don't want him to be near Oikawa,” Tobio gave a giggle at the fact that Miwa had immediately recognised Oikawa as the devil. “But I doubt the asshole is going to do much. And if he does I'll punch him. I still need to punch him for what he did in Junior High so that would be compensation.”

Tobio felt oddly touched at the fact that his sister cared that much and scared for Oikawa. He had seen Miwa punch someone firsthand. It was terrifying.

“Haha. Thanks, Sis.” Tobio said softly, hoping his emotions can bleed through the words.

“Anytime Tobio. Anyway, gotta go. Talk to the kid. I'm sure he would love to be with you.” she said before she hung up.

Tobio sighed as he looked at the dark screen. Just then a loud sound descended from upstairs, making its way noisily to the sitting room.

“Mama!” Akito yelled, a smirk on his face, a complete contradiction to the sweet voice.

“Yeah, brat?” Tobio asked, holding his arms out and letting out an exaggerated huff as the little terror ran into his arms.

“What's for dinner?” he asked, but doe eyes looking up at his mother, sparkling with mischief.

“Yakitori and rice?” Tobio asked even though he knew the answer.

“Yes!” his son yelled happily, hopping off and just as he was about to dash off the kitchen, Kageyama grabbed his arm gently.

“Just a minute though. I wanna ask you something.” Tobio said, pulling the boy into his lap. The boy didn't fight and snuggled in. “I was wondering if you would be okay observing one of our practice matches since no one is going to be able to babysit you that I feel comfortable with. I can go and pick you up and make time for practice.”
