Love and Deceit

Chapter 1: Where it all began

It was a cold winter day in a small city in Japan, about a week after the first term, where a senior high student named Toshiro was waiting for the class to finish.

While also, thinking about his teacher Hikari. Toshiro is actually in love with her. Since middle school, Hikari was Toshiro’s teacher, and they would always chat about random things. Until when something happened at the starting of his 10th grade, people who were students of Hikari, started rumors of her having an affair with her boyfriend. Upon finding out, Toshiro confronted Hikari, Toshiro was shocked to see Hikari crying and asked her if the rumors were true or not. Hikari answered, “I don't know, I'm sorry”. Since then, they have only spoken because Hikari was his teacher.

Toshiro is a shy/introverted guy with black hair and blue eyes, he also always wears a scarf in class.

Hikari is one of those people you never see down or sad, they are always happy and cheerful. And she is pretty famous in school because many students like the way she teaches.

Back to the class, while doing random stuff to pass time, he has a flashback. He sees himself crying at the corner of his room quietly listening to his parents getting divorced because of a problem he thought he caused. He starts feeling nervous and starts to panic. He feels that if he didn’t do anything at that time everything would be ok. After experiencing the flashback, he waits until school ends. Feeling stressed he sprints to a local diner where his only friend named Dante works at. He and Dante were neighbors since kids and were friends for almost all their childhood. They lived in a small modern village where it is close to most malls and most importantly their school. And, it was Toshiro’s first time being alone at school because Dante decided to transfer to a new school. He explains having the flashback and also saying he still feels guilty for what he did. He also says that he wants to confess his feelings to Hikari, and get over her because he has no chance on her. After a few more hours, Toshiro texted his dad that he would come home late because he was hanging out with Dante and he would eat dinner at the diner. Toshiro’s dad and mom were divorced for about 11 years now, and it was only Toshiro and his dad because his mom sadly passed away 5 years after the divorce. On his way home, listening to a playlist he just made, he stumbles into a girl named Ayaka.

Ayaka is a very social girl and gets very comfortable with close friends, but, can be very shy to people she doesn’t know. She also has short pink hair.

It was about 9 pm when Toshiro was walking home, while listening to his new playlist, he stumbled into a girl named Ayaka. Toshiro apologized immediately and picked up Ayaka’s fallen books and papers. While picking up her books, he noticed Ayaka was in the same school as him. Toshiro asked what grade she’s in,  and Ayaka answered, “Toshiro we are in the same class”. Shocked, Toshiro realizes that he doesn’t even know or socialize with his classmates. Toshiro apologizes again, but in the middle of his apology, he was stopped by Ayaka. Smiling, Ayaka brings him to a bench in a park close to her house. Ayaka starts blushing and starts to talk with Toshiro, Toshiro asked why he was brought there and why do you want to talk. Ayaka’s eyes start to tear up while saying, “Toshiro, I like you, I liked you actually since middle school”. At the brink of crying, Ayaka gets hugged by Toshiro. Toshiro saying, “I don’t know if I like you, but thanks for liking me”. Then, while hugging Ayaka, her emotions get the best of her and she decided to kiss him, not knowing what to do Toshiro just played along and started to kiss Ayaka.

Until, his phone rang, and hears his dad shouting that it’s 10:30 pm and he is still not home. Panicking he decides to tell his father that he saw an old lady being lost and that he helped her get home, and he would be home in about 30 mins. Overhearing their conversation, Ayaka decides to say goodbye and thank you to Toshiro.

The next day, Toshiro wanted to confront Hikari and confess his feelings to her. But, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. At the end of the day, he wanted to stay at home and continue writing a novel where it is mainly about romance and his feelings for a teacher. Toshiro actually wants to be a writer, he mainly wants to write novels or manga stories. He is more interested in writing about his own personal feelings in a story. That’s where he gets his ideas from. He also has a lot of favorite writers, one being a modern one and one being an ancient one. 

In class, Toshiro noticed Ayaka and wanted to talk with her after what happened to them. On their lunch break, Toshiro asked if they could talk for a moment, Ayaka answered in a nervous voice “s-sure”. To go to the back of the school and start to talk. Toshiro asked why she kissed him, she answered, “I told you, I like you, I probably kissed you because you were hugging me and I got overwhelmed so I decided to do it”. “Oh, then why didn’t you tell me that u liked me?”, said Toshiro. Ayaka answered, “I simply couldn’t, it’s like if it wasn’t you, I could talk about everything and anything for hours, but if it was you, my mind just goes blank”. “Oh, well thank you I guess, goodbye,” said Tohisro. “Wait!”, “Toshiro, can we be friends?” said Ayaka. Toshiro was filled with joy and happiness that he fell to the ground crying. “Thank you, Ayaka, it’s the first time someone had said that to me in a long time, and sure I would be happy to be friends with you”.

After about a week, they got very close and even became best friends. Then, Ayaka invited Toshiro to her house to study for the exams. Toshiro happily accepted and went there after school. But, he was shocked at what he saw when he first entered the house. “Hikari? what are you doing here”... To be continued
