It was just about sunrise on the battlefield, most of the other Tankmen were sleeping in their own sleeping quarters, he knew that there was a couple enemies stalking one of their bases and he wasn't risking another night with the slight chance of getting ambushed with the rest of the Tankmen. The certain Tankman finally found the enemies in a small circle, about three or four of them, probably discussing their plans. He held his gun, an assault rifle, in his hands, slowly creeping towards them, finally hiding behind one of the corners of a building, none of the enemies heard him, thankfully. He slowly pulled the trigger and shot one of the enemies, and while the rest of the enemies were frantically searching for their attacker, while the Tankman shot two more, while one remained.
He began to get a bit cocky, not before he heard humming, '..Humming..:? From another enemy..? ', but he recognized that voice before, he was sure it was a Tankman, but not just any Tankman, he's sure it was–
"Hey Steve! I–" Captain started, before getting get cut off by gunshots, from the last enemy, shooting where he heard Captain speak. They scrambled to go towards another building's corner, and Steve slowly peeked out, aiming his gun, but distracted by Captain.
"I'm kind of busy right now.. Captain.." Steve said, half-focused, half-distracted, not bothering to look at Captain, who was right beside him.
"Wow, Steve, you're pretty good with that thing, I probably should raise your ranks–" Captain winked, but cutoff by Steve's gunshots and grunts, while struggling to aim.
Captain started flirting with Steve saying different, but horrible, pickup lines. If Steve didn't know better he would of thought Captain was drunk. Luckily for him, Captain never decides to get drunk at sunrise. Steve wouldn't say he disliked Captain being beside him, he'd prefer if he gave some advice though.
Steve gave Captain a look full of annoyance, while Captain chuckled slightly, and winked once again, while Captain started to lean on Steve, slightly. Steve let out a heavy sigh, and blushed a bit, trying to get back to focusing on his task at hand.
Captain could flirt with Steve, but it didn't mean he could contain his posture, and something about Steve just made him struggle with functioning properly, like Captain would lose himself for a moment while talking to Steve, but then, his face would redden and he'd apologize, or pretend nothing happened.
Steve was a bit more calm about it, but, to be fair, he didn't flirt with Captain as much. He'd sometimes be a bit oblivious about what he would do to Captain; he doesn't blush as much as Captain but when he does, he gets flustered, his face gets flushed and he stutters, and he, himself, hates it.
Steve finally shot the enemy with the lack of focus and the biggest distraction he was right next to, Steve turned to Captain but he wasn't looking into Captain's goggles, out of embarrassment probably.Captain was looking at Steve as well, but then looked to the left side of him, fumbling with something in his pockets, a bit of blushing forming on his face, as he struggled to get the item out of his pockets. Steve looked back at Captain and noticed he had something in his pockets, but not quite sure what he was looking for.
"Aha! Found it, Steve! " Captain exclaimed, sweating a bit but with a tiny bit of nervousness on his face.
Steve noticed this and asked, "What are you so worried about, Captai–", but he got cutoff by Captain forcing a bouquet of flowers in Steve's arms. Captain looked at Steve with a nervous look, it was rare, since Captain was smug, most of the time.
"Flowers? " Steve asked, a bit confused, but before he could say anything else Captain started to explain, "Well, I just thought," Captain looked away and fumbled with his hands, "You were doing some good work, and I thought I should give you something, y'know for helping the Tankmen with this 'mission' of yours."
"Sounds pretty gay to me, Captain." Steve said, jokingly, but he was blushing as well. "If I didn't know any better, I thought that you–" He laughed, pointing fun at Captain, who is blushing and still sweating.
"Yeah, Yeah.. I got it, Steve." Captain said, half-serious, while a smile formed on his face. Captain reached out and held Steve's hand, while Steve flinched, and began blushing as well.
"I didn't know you liked me that way, Cap'n. Good thing I feel the same way towards you." Steve replied, as he interlocked fingers with Captain's, they both were smiling happily.______________________________________________________________
