A religion is a set of rules. Some people see Christianity as a set of hard rules and not worth following. But! Christianity is not just that. Being a Christian means that you have a personal relationship with the LORD. If you have faith in Him, will trust Him, and love Him, you will have eternal life and live face-to-face with Him forever!
He loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you. You are very precious to Him. He died for you after all.
So, His love is unconditional and it will protect you until you are meant to be with Him forevermore.
I am still working on my trust and faith in God but that's what the Holy Spirit is for; to guide and help us in our faith in God.
