9. It Never Remains Same

Avoid mistakes if any

Manik's POV

Life has changed drastically. Never knew I will lose everyone. Huh!

Who knew the friends whom I had considered would have back stabbed me. Now I feel only these are my friends.

The piled of cases that are put on the table are the ones who keep me sane. Standing here looking at the my name gives me proud feeling but somewhere I am sad. My life is incomplete.

You guys must be thinking what I am thinking well. I am a prosecutor now gladly. I lost my music also the precious people.

Manik was so busy that he didn't even realise there was a knock on his cabin. Again someone knocked.

"Come in" Manik said sitting on his place wearing spects.

A person came inside with some bruise on his face and hands.

"Hello Mr. Malhotra. I am Kartik Singhania." He introduced himself.

"Ohh come have a seat. What happened to you?" Manik asked looking at his state.

"Actually when I went home today there I saw some mens hitting my dad when I fought with them this happened. I want to punish them so I am here." He said Manik bobbed his head and asked

"Okay! Can you please elaborate what exactly happened? What was the reason for them to do like that?" Manik interrogated him and it went on.

The other side in one of the cafe we can see a girl in her late 20s was instructing workers to do their fast fast.

"Common we don't have whole day. And what the hell! Why are there no caffeine in the kitchen? Didn't I told to order them?" She asked furiously.

"Ma'am we did order but they haven't delivered it." One of the worker said.

"Ahhh! I hate these people. Agar orders deliver hi nahi karne hote toh why do they even take orders."

"Chill Mukti! Here is ur order!" Said one person who came with the order.

"Thank god! Cabir you are my saviour" Mukti said to Cabir and he smiled at her.

"Sit I'll get something for us." Shs said but he denied

"Nahi Mukti I need to leave kisi aur din."

She got sad listening him and looked down asking " ab tu bhi aise jar raha hai? Pehle se hi Manik ignore kar hai aur tu bhi."

"Mukti tujhe pata hai na Manik ki job aur rahi baat meri toh I have my job too...let me do mine. Please." She sighed and bobbed her head. He left from there leaving Mukti sad.

"Sab kuch bahut change ho gaya hai god." Mukti mumbled looking at the pic which was hanging on the cafe wall which had Manan, Navya, Cabir and herself.

Controlling her tears she moved inside to do her work.

The other side in one of the writing office we can see a girl sitting in a meeting who was all lost.

"And then we will change the ending. I mean it's kind off not relatable." Said the director to the writer.

Seeing her lost the director said " Ms. Murthy? Are you okay?"

"Hmm? Ohh I am so sorry... I.. didn't realise when I was lost. What did you say?" Nandini sat properly and apologized.

"No that's fine! So I was saying let's change the ending I mean let's not show them not parting their ways." Listening him Nandini's eyes got slight tears but she replied

" I am sorry but I think we shouldn't change the ending I mean the whole movie will become flop if you change the ending."

"Tch... Nandini... see your story is really nice and slight change won't harm anything. So please let's do this...please..."

Seeing him requesting alot she agreed.

"Okay. So you have to change the ending. Kuch bhi karo do it before this week end" Nandini bobbed her head and they disperse from there.

Nandini moved out of the building and started walking on the street thinking about her life.

Nandini's POV

It has been 7 years for after what happened at Malhotra Mansion. Everything changed.

Alia and Dhruv backstabbed us, Navya was forcefully taken away by her parents. Mukti and Cabir were the only ones who were with us.

We 4 were happy when out of nowhere Manik decided something which was shocking to everyone.

Flashback

I was sitting on the sofa waiting for Manik along with Mukti and Cabir. Soon enough he came panting and said

"Guys! I have decided something." We bobbed our head tell him to continue.

" I have decided I don't want to pursue music as my career. If I will then I will lose myself drastically. So I have decided to become a lawyer/ prosecutor. Are you guys okay with this?" He asked hesitating to us...

I knew him better...so I agreed whatever he will do he will do really great. Where as Cabir and Mukti first didn't agree but then they agreed.

End of POV

Nandini sat on the bench and looked around to see many people running, walking, driving, some couples.

She smiled seeing the group of people who looked like friends. Remembering about friends she got sad and looked down.

Soon enough her phone pinged with message. Opening she read out.

"Meet in the cafe! No excuses!"

It was from Mukti. So she got up and moved towards the cafe. When she reached there no one was there but only Mukti and her.

She smiled and gave her a friendly hug.

"How are you?" She asked to which she bobbed her head.

"Sit...baaki aate hi honge." Nandini bobbed and sat on her regular table.

Soon enough even Cabir came seeing Nandini he gave her a smile and sat opposite to her right side.

Here in Manik's office who was engrossed in the case files seeing the message from Mukti he sighed but nevertheless he stood up taking his coat and adjusting his tie he moved out instructing his colleagues about his whereabouts.

When he came down he directly sat in his car and drove to Mukti's cafe. After the drive if 15 minutes Manik reached the cafe.

As soon as he entered he smiled looking at Mukti and giving her hug he wished her.

"Good evening"

"Good evening Mr. Prosecutor" Manik chuckled and moved to the table where Cabir and Nandini were sitting.

He gave Cabir a friendly hug and sat exactly opposite to Nandini. They both looked at each other and gave a awkward smile.

Mukti and Cabir saw them like that they smiled awkwardly too. It was their routine to behave like this.

Nandini was playing with her fingers and Manik was all the time adjusting his tie.
