When Tubbo woke up that day, he felt a disturbance in the balance of the universe. "Why the hell are there owls in my dorm!" He exclaimed as he rolled off of the bed, letting out a small 'oof' as he hit the floor. He stood up and began swatting them out the window.
Once he was sure that there were no more birds in the dorm, he looked around and found out that he was alone in the room. Tubbo glanced at the clock, worried that he was late, but sighed in relief when he saw that there was thirty minutes before classes start—enough to get ready and grab some breakfast.
That in mind, he hurried to get ready. Changing into his uniform and Ravenclaw robes, grabbing his wand from his desk, checking for any more bird ambushes, then leaving the common room. He rushed down the stairs of the tower and soon enough he found himself by the doors of the Great Hall. Tubbo spotted Ranboo who was sitting at the Ravenclaw table, and plopped onto the seat opposite to the tall boy.
"I want to explode Owlery," Tubbo stated as soon as he sat down.
Ranboo nearly dropped his spoon as he looked at the brunet, "Excuse me?"
"You heard me," Tubbo crossed his arms across his chest, smirking.
"Yeah, but why?"Ranboo asked. "What has the Owlery ever done to you?"
"It's not the Owlery at fault," Tubbo stated, "it's the owls. I woke up and a bunch of them were in my dorm, and that made no sense. So I thought, why not explode the Owlery so that they'll learn to actually stay in their home."
"Their home that you're gonna explode?" Ranboo raised an eyebrow at Tubbo. "You know that'll just make them roam around more, right?"
Tubbo hummed.
"A—are you really having a hard time deciding whether you should do it or not?" Ranboo asked.
"You make a good point," Tubbo said.
"Oh thank goodness," Ranboo sighed in relief.
"Should I just explode the Ravenclaw Tower so they won't perch there anymore?" Tubbo asked.
"Tubbo, no!" Ranboo said letting out a laugh that sounds like he's gonna cry. "Why is you're first instinct to any inconvenience 'Bombarda Maxima'?"
"It's like that 'Out of sight, out of mind' saying," Tubbo said.
"It's really not," Ranboo said. "Let the owls be man. They probably just wanted to perch somewhere higher up."
"Alright, no blowing up the Owlery or Tower," Tubbo sighed.
"Thank you," Ranboo said and proceeded to eat.
After breakfast, the two started their classes with their electives—Ancient Runes.
"And if you turn to page 36 of your textbooks, yoh should see an alphabet of sorts," the professor said.
Tubbo did as told and saw a table filled with runes, and beside them was their English Alphabet equivalents.
"Now, for a quick test, try writing these words using the alphabet presented to you," the professor said as they raised their wand, making the chalk float up to the board and write down certain words. One in specific caught Tubbo's attention.
Owls.
Tubbo could feel his eye twitching as he stared at the word. Slowly he raised his arm that was holding the wand, only to be lowered by Ranboo who didn't even bother to look at his direction.
