Adrien was sitting on the couch watching the news with Plagg next to him scarfing down camembert, as usual.
"As of today, Susan Valentine is officially considered to be a missing person. She was last seen leaving her job at the animal shelter. Police are working hard to find her. We'll keep you updated as more information comes in. In other news..."
"I can't listen to this anymore. It's too depressing," Adrien said. "Feel like going for a run Plagg?"
"I don't have a choice do I?"
"Nope."
"Are we going to see pigtails again?" Adrien rolled his eyes, even though he fully intended to go see Marinette, he didn't need Plagg making fun of him for it.
"Claws out."
He ran along the rooftops, letting the wind flow through his hair. He couldn't help but think that this was the best feeling in the world. He felt so free. It was a beautiful night. The moon was full and the stars were bright. A gentle breeze floated around him, and suddenly the amazing smell of the Dupain-Cheng bakery flooded his nose.
He caught sight of Marinette on her balcony and a smile lit up his face.
He landed behind her without a sound. "Hi Marinette," he said softly.
"Ahhhhh!" She jumped back and almost fell over. He caught her by the hand and helped her stand back up. "Oh, Chat Noir. It's just you." She said taking a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. "Don't sneak up on me like that."
"I'm sorry Marinette. I didn't mean to scare you." He smirked. "But, I have to admit, that was pretty funny."
"It's not so funny when you think you're about to be kidnapped by a supervillain." She huffed. A slight smile spread across her face. She couldn't stay mad at him. "What are you doing here?"
"I saw you out here and I couldn't resist stopping by to visit my biggest fan."
"Who said I was your biggest fan?" She leaned back against the railing, and crossed her arms.
"I think it's pretty obvious." He said, taking a step towards her.
"How so?"
"Well, for starters, you've already declared your undying love for me." He grinned.
Her face flushed as she thought back to the Weredad incident. "You're never going to let me live that down, are you?"
"Not a chance."
"Well, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm over that little crush now."
"I see. So you're saying you wouldn't be interested in a rooftop picnic with the coolest cat in town?"
"Ha!" She doubled over in laughter. "You aren't nearly as cool as you think you are."
"I'm not gonna lie, that hurt a little." He put his hand on his heart, and faked a sniffle. "Besides, if I wasn't cool, would you have dressed up as Chat Noir for Halloween?"
Her face turned even redder. "How did you even know about that?" She asked, trying to act like she wasn't as embarrassed as she felt.
"I was around, and I just happened to see you. You were very cute as LadyNoir." He winked at her.
"We did a group costume, and I didn't want to go as Ladybug so I... Hold on, what did you say?"
"I said you were very cute as LadyNoir." He took another step towards her, this time nearly closing the gap between them.
