Chapter 1 : Angèlique
As the light of day slipped through the tall, dark trees of the old, lonely forest the screams of an enfant filled the air. This is how I, Angèlique, came into this world. My mother brought me to life in a rather difficult time. Nothing was just in that time.
It was all in a town called Cornsdale. A town of murderrers and thievs. A town where people would sell their own child for a piece of bread withought thinking it twice.
But even so, my mother loved me and wanted to protect me more than anything. That's why, she made sure that my father was a Dragon Slayer. Such a creature was extremelly rare, but not unexistent. So Calleen, my mother, thought to herself that if she'd find a superior creature like that and made it fall in love with her and bare it's child, the child would have the same power that the father has. And she wasn't wrong.
After some time, in which she tryed to find a Dragon Slayer and failed, she started giving up on her plan. She started thinking that what she wanted was foolish and could not be acomplished. But as she started to doubt her luck, she found a young, handsome man that bare the powers of a Dragon Slayer. He had beautiful, peaceful eyes that were so kind and gentle and dark hair that made him look very young , but he was more than that : he was as wise as an old man and as brave as a fierce warrior. His name was Caleb.
After she found him , she fell in love with him and so did he with her. Now, everything was going according to plan. After she got pregnant with me, she had to tell Caleb what she wanted and what she has been after. He understood completely and did not blame her. He told her not to worry for me, that I would most certanly be of his kind. But also he told her that if I will stay in Cornsdale the people who live there will notice something is different about me and from that moment on, we will never be able to live in peace.
So, they had to take me away from that godforsaken town and protect me until I am ready to fullfill my destiny. But unfortunatelly, not my mother, nor my father could do that, so they thought about someone who might be able to save me. They both thought about an old man, Psidon, who lived two towns away. They heard storyes about this man and about his powers, and so they thought he might be their only hope.
After I was born, my father wrote a letter which he adressed to Psidon, telling him all about my powers. He also told him that when I will be prepared he will have to tell me about my parents and give me this letter. After he wrote everything down, he put the Dragon Slayer's seal on it and put it inside my blanket. He took me away from my mother and gave me to Mag, who was supposed to get me out of Cornsdale. Mag was a brave woman, even though she knew what she was getting herself into she proved once more she was a reliable friend and helped my mother and father get me to saftey.
