11th of June – a date that was forever going to be cemented into Saeyoung Chois head but not for the reasons you would expect. You see, the 11th of June was Saeyoungs birthday, a day many moons ago he got to share with the person who means the world to him, however as of now its just a day like any other, He woke up, joked around with the Charity Group he was a part with, Messed with his maid (actually his work partner but.. it was fun too see the look on his face when he was called a maid) all this before falling into bed at night ready to restart his everyday routine. Today was different however, he couldn’t go to sleep on his birthday without thinking of his other half, without wondering how are they? Are they happy? Pulling open a draw he normally has locked, he picks up the sheet of glow-in-the-dark stick on stars that are lay next to a floppy disk, with a neatly folded note on top. Letting himself hesitate for a second he picks up the note and reads it, his Amber eyes scanning the hand written words of the note that had been gifted to him with said floppy disk just the year before – he could feel the emotion taking over him as he re-read every word, as if he was trying to fully understand what his life had become. Slowly, almost as if he was afraid to hurt it, he replaced to note in the draw before shutting it. Holding his sticker sheet tightly he starts towards his bed, using it as a tool to pull of his old boots that seemed to just slip off without a care – letting his feet finally have some air as he stands on his bed and looks up. On his ceiling an impressive array of stickers all placed in a pattern that could easily take someone’s breath away – clearly a well loved process that had taken years.
Peeling the sticker sheet back he starts to place them in line with how they should look, His sharp eyes never once leaving the ceiling as he placed them. One star after another until he had easily placed over 100 more – 100 more small dots to make his collection bigger and better. 100 more small dots that would remind him every time he looked up what he had lost, what he had given up to be as happy as he was today. Letting himself lie on the bed, tossing the now empty sticker sheet to the side he looks at the display – small, silent almost crystal like tears run down his face as he finally lets his mind wonder. Was Saeran happy? Could he see the stars from where he was? Did he hate him? Don’t get him wrong he knew he couldn’t have these thoughts, he knew how dangerous he was – he knew it better than anyone else.. but just for a moment he let himself think of the twin he had lost. And then he thought about who he was, and this was a question sometimes too deep for him to think about. Was he 707? Luciel? Or was he Saeyoung? Would Saeran like 707 and Luciel? Everyone at the RFA seemed too.. they loved 707, the funny guy who would play a prank on you in a matter of seconds, But is that who Saeyoung really was? He didn’t know, he really couldn’t tell you. The feelings of guilt rushed over him quickly then, who was he to have fun? He was a dirty man that should be hated by everyone – a man who committed crimes every single day of his life just so his boss could get a pay check. A man who left his only brother in an abusive household – alone with an alcoholic mother.. who was he to have fun? He quickly stands, almost running to the draw before pulling it open. Vanderwood wasn’t around right now – so just for tonight, his birthday night, he would let his mind explore a place he never lets it. Grabbing the floppy disk and inserting it into his computer he lets a very gentle smile pull on his lips, tasting the salt his tears leave behind.
On the screen is his other half smiling, laughing – looking like he’s having a good time. Placing his hand against the screen he sobs ever so gently before he can muster up the words to speak
“Happy Birthday Saeran”
