On an unmanned planet within the galaxy, a war rages on. Two faction fights for dominance over the planet one is loyal to the Imperium the Death Korp of Krieg while the other is loyal to the dark gods the Iron Warriors. For ten consecutive years, they have fought a war of attrition each side unable to get an edge as bunkers, artillery, and machine gun grizzled those who dare cross no man's land. But all changed when the gods sent forth their daemons into the fray led by nonother than Be'Lakor the daemon prince. With these new blessings, they squash the Death Korps taking over trench after trench causing Millions of Casualties to the Death Korp. What remains of the army falls back to a fortress that they had to build long ago. Stock up with ammunition and rations they swore to make the enemy pay with their blood for every inch they take. The siege continued for another ten months as the Iron Warriors slowly and steadily make their way through the fortress killing and slaughtering those who dare to oppose them. With the numbers dwindling and ammunition running low the commander of the Death Korp order all those who are still breathing to retreat back to the command room where they shall make their last stand. But unbeknownst to them instead of attacking them head the Chaos space marines were searching for something no... someone. They ransacked room after room trying to find their target taking a sweet time all the while the soldiers of Krieg pointed their las rifles at the barricaded door ready. When the space marines finally arrived they unleashed hell, bolter rounds pounding through the defenders like a hot knife through butter they fire back of course but it does little except enrage the servants of the dark gods. Within minutes the carnage ended leaving nothing but lifeless bodies all except one. A Krieger crawled towards the nearest rifle with a hole size of a ball in his left abdomen. A marine stomped on his back not so rough but not so gentle either. The heretic grabbed him by the neck and looked at him.

"It seems we have found our prey. Bring lord Be'Lakor he would be pleased"

Loud stomping was heard through the hallway which gets closer by the second. Until the beast showed itself.

"So this is the little insect that the gods demand? And here I hoped thinking you would be much stronger instead of being this weak" The daemon laughed for a moment "No matter if the gods desire you then they shall have it. Bring the witch!" It yells.

As they waited the wounded Kriger slowly and painfully pick a grenade from his belt and with his thumb remove the pin. A mutated and deformed chaos Pysker entered the room where it began chanting dark and foul magic through its dry mouth where a dark portal appeared from thin air.

"Try not to go insane in there the dark gods will be displeased with a deranged insect" The daemon laughs once more and this is where the soldier strikes. With all the strength he had left, he threw the grenade right next to the face of the beast. Its explosion sends hundreds of deadly fragments all over the room tearing the Daemon's face apart; coincidentally it also hits the Psyker right in the head, killing him and causing disruption on the portal. But he too was not so lucky. With a fit of pain and rage, the Daemon tighten its grip crushing his ribs and making him throw up blood. It threw him into the portal seconds before it disappeared.

The Daemon prince roars with anger and pain.

seconds later, the Death Korpse came crashing down onto piles of hazardous and dirty trash. A gasp escaped his bloodied mask as pain erupted throughout his whole body like a thousand stingers. On instinct, he grabbed a clean bandage from his pouch and wrapped it around the ball-sized hole in his stomach, groaning in the process. Once that was done, his hand went back to grab a pack of morphine. He inserted three shots of the drug into his body, which slowly dissolved the pain. After what felt like centuries, he could breathe normally again. With his mind now calmed, he proceeded to assess his situation. With a wounded and bloodied body, a long walk back to friendly lines was out of the question, meaning he had to find shelter to let his body heal. Luckily for him, the structures around him were similar to those of the Imperium. And so, with a goal set, he packed his gear and began the grueling part of walking while trying not to pass out. Slowly, as he walked toward the light, his ears caught the sound of hundreds of shoes stepping on the ground and something mechanical moving from one part to another, making him confused. When he finally got out, he could only describe what he saw in one word: magnificent. Never in all his life had he seen something like this. The sky was blue and pure, mostly devoid of pollution. People by the thousands walked past each other, going about their daily lives. The streets were filled with cars with designs he had never seen before. He walked aimlessly into the crowd, his mind distracted all the while people stared, not at his uniform or mask but at the trail of blood coming from the wound. He would have continued dozing off if it wasn't interrupted by a huge crowd just a few dozen feet in front of him. Not being able to see from the back the soldier of Krieg forcibly pushes himself through the crowd which resulted in curses being thrown into his name well in this case his number. When he arrived he was surprised by the sight of a hostage situation, a masked man was holding a crude knife at the neck of a young woman to their sides, and stood two men dressed in dark, and light blue with their firearms aimed at the man. The man shouted with a voice mixed with fear and anger whilst the two cops reply with a calmer tone they are saying the soldier of Krieg could only guess. But what he is certainly right about is that the people were just watching the event hell some even started recording instead of giving any kind of assistance. The Kriegsman could not accept something to be done to break this deadlock even if it had to be done by himself pushing through the crowd once more with his knife on the ready and when he was at a perfect angle he strikes. Despite how wounded the Kreigsman is he still manages to charge, the criminal pushed the woman aside and a hand-to-hand melee ensues. The two exchange stabs with the Death Korp receiving stabs into his chest puncturing his lung and severy reducing his agility. Sensing victory the criminal taunts the Death Korp in his alien language seeing an opportunity the Guardsman gave it his all screaming at the top of his lungs as his knife lands in the lower jaw of the criminal. Before the man could respond he yanked it and shove the knife right between his eyes. Instantly the body drops dead as blood spews all over and he too drops exhausted and in pain. The last thing he heard was the screams of terror and fright.

"ignosce mihi, imperator, quia ego neglexi te" With that he closes his eyes ready to receive death.
