To be a woman

As a teen growing up, I struggled with a lot of stuff. Self concouis because of my weight. Depressed because of my home life.
I was always told to act like a lady. But what is a lady but an inferior version of a dominant man. I didn't want to be that. I wanted to be myself. I wanted to dress fierce and look even fiercer. I wanted people to look my way and like me because I was me. I didn't just want to be a lady I wanted to myself.
My role models change over the years, but similarities always remain the same. Fierce, independent, crass, brave woman. Such as Nicki minaj, cardi b, even Katherine Pierce from the vampire diaries.
I think people always see role models such as these in my actions and such.
Don't get me wrong it's not me trying to be someone I'm not. It's them being my muse and me giving it my own flair.
Through these strong woman I learn to always be myself whether I'm being silly or emotionally uptight to sexy to sweet. Always stay true to myself. It also gives me courage to dress the way I want too. Also to motivate other woman to be themselves and never bring them down.
I always try to tell another woman how she looks good when I see she's uncomfortable in her own skin. I encourage another woman when someone tells her she looks awefull. Real woman aren't just ladies, they are uplifting like minded individuals, people who deserve to be looked at respected and treated equal.
Throughout history woman have been told what to do. Treated like slaves to the male ego. To that I say we are all equal. We are not trophies though we look beautiful. We are not whores because of the way we feel comfortable dressing. We are strong independent and ourselves.
We have overcome a lot of obstacles not because we're women but because we've had too. We all started from the bottom.
Each woman is different. But we all should arrive to be confident. In a world like this, it's our job to look good and feel good.
Just recently I went to a clothing store and saw a woman in leggings and a tunic, she was pulling the tunic down. And I said "you look really good in that" and she over and over expressed her gratitude. I made her day. And I hope I helped boost her confidence, like all the fierce females who have boosted mine.
I hope more fierce females rise up from the bottom.
