𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗛 ☾︎ 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙣𝙖

#2 This moment.

To say Chaewon was exhausted was an understatement. She was beat. Not when her mom and dad beat everything about being a pokemon trainer right into her head without mercy. Their reasoning was so she could be prepared.

Well, it's a great thing to be prepared but she felt like it would take away the enjoyment and fun while traveling as she could learn and experience new things along the way rather than already knowing what to do.

She pouts, “ What the fun in that? ”

Rolling onto her side, she stared at the lamp on her table that was blinking with every second passed. Just then she heard the door creaked open, who she guessed might have been either her mom or dad trying to surprise her. Chaewon grimaced and sat up, but lift an eyebrow when there was no one in sight.

Instead, she sees a strand of blue bouncing from the doorway to the side of her bed. Even though she couldn't see what it was, she smiled. “ Swablu, what are you doing buddy? ” she peaked in, startling the poor pokemon.

The blue bird shrieked, eyes going wide before Chaewon's laugh cut in. It calmed down as it slumped its body down slightly.

She leans down to pick up Swablu into her arms, fingers squishing the soft clouds-like wings it has. The little Swablu cooed, eyes going cresent. Chaewon giggled and snuggled her cheeks against Swablu who flaps its cloud-like wings in content.

She holds Swablu at an eye level and stared at it softly. Chaewon smiled slightly, she was thinking if it was fine to bring Swablu along as she was closer with Swablu, unlike other pokemon. Since she took care of the pokemon, Swablu had caught her eyes from the start. She also couldn't deny her favoritism towards the little Swablu.

She gives a sad smile and Swablu tilt their head in curiosity at the sudden change of her expression. Chaewon set down Swablu on her mattress and stroke the single strand of hair on its head. She was about to sit something when her father interrupted with a knock on her door.

“ I see you're still not asleep. ” he chuckled lightly and was a bit startled to see Swablu on Chaewon's bed.

“ Ah, I was about to when Swablu came in. ” Chaewon explained, petting Swablu who cooed in confusion as it looks between Chaewon and her father. She smiled softly.

“ You're really close with Swablu, you know right? ” her father questioned and Chaewon nod meekly as an answer. It's not like she would deny it.

“ Maybe you should take it on your adventure. ” her father suggested with a smile and Chaewon froze for a split second before letting out a small 'huh?'. Her father laughed at her. “ You need at least one pokemon to accompany you on your adventure. that's what most beginners do. though there are exceptions. ” he flicked his wrist as a gesture with a looped smile.

Once Chaewon processes what her father said, she brightens up. But the thoughts of Swablu having to leave its comfort zone made Chaewon anxious. Would the little Swablu even want to go out? The Swablu cooed in concern once her expression darkened and her father wore a sympathetic smile.

“ Anyway, you should sleep early today. you still have a lot to learn tomorrow. ” half of his darkened with his signature sinister smile. Chaewon smiled awkwardly as she feels shivers go down her body. Once her father bid good night and closed her door, Chaewon lets out a heavy sigh.

Swablu cooed and hopped closer to nudge her weakly by the arm, trying to cheer her up. Recognizing Swablu's effort, Chaewon smiles and giggled quietly before swooping it into her arms. She reached out to her table lamp and turned the light off. Once the light was out, she plopped down on her bed.
