Deep breaths, he's just a guy, just a guy... I kept repeating to myself. Don't make yourself look like a twat.

The hostess led us over to the table where the three gentlemen were already seated looking through the brunch menu. This restaurant was amazing and the air was thick with delicious smells. Even more delicious was the sight of Mr Hiddleston standing as you arrived at the table with Johnathan. This signalled the other two men, Andrew the agent and Douglas the publisher to stand aswell. I wasn't used to this chivalry and it made me blush.

Mr Hiddleston pulled out the chair next to his and ushered me to take a seat. He was stood so close behind me to push my chair in, his aftershave smelt amazing. I was in such a dreamy daze from his scent he made me jump when he placed a hand on my shoulder as he sat down turning his chair slightly to face mine.
His smile was beautiful. I didn't often call men beautiful but he definitely was. He leaned in to whisper, "sorry if I made you jump then, that wasn't my intention".
"It's fine sir, I'm just a little overwhelmed at being here". It was the truth, not just the restaurant or being asked to brunch but sitting next to him.
"Please don't call me sir, please call me Tom. I want you to feel relaxed. Your not at the office now". He was leaning across towards me. Elbow on the table almost shielding what he was saying.
"Menu miss?" The waiter said whilst handing me the rather large piece of thick paper.
"Thank you"
"Anything to drink whilst you're all deciding?" He directed this towards the whole table.

"I'll have a mineral water and a strong black coffee please" said Tom.

All I could focus on was his mouth moving and that smile being directed at me again.

"Oh, just water please. Tap is fine" I said to the waiter. I felt an audible gasp from the rest of the table. It was what I always had when asked what drink I wanted. Simple girl, simple drink.
Tom shook his head, "Please bring her a mineral water, she's celebrating". Very sarcastically. I looked at him and he just had that smirk across his face again.

I did my best not to loose my shit there and then. No man would ever tell me what I can and cannot have again. It may have only been a drinks order to some but for me it was always about a man deciding what a woman wanted and dominating her. I mean I liked being dominated in the bedroom on occasion, but not here and not now.

"Ummm no sorry, please tap water is fine".

Tom looked at me like, oh... ok... Yes ma'am. I leaned back in the chair and crossed my legs making it very clear he'd pissed me off. He leant towards me, "sorry I didn't mean to upset you. That's the last thing I want to do"
"It's ok" I said as I uncrossed my legs and continued to look at the menu.

The conversation was all business at the other end of the table and I couldn't concentrate on anything other than Tom laughing at something I'd said.

"My god, you did what? I wouldn't expect that at all from a lady" he laughed.

Our conversation had become completely relaxed after spending just a short time together. He talked a bit about an up coming project he was working on, how crazy his schedule was going to be next month when he started filming for it. He spoke about his exercise routine and how he'd love to run a marathon for one of the charity's he supported. He asked me some questions about how I got my job, where I lived, my hobbies and then he asked about my children.

"So why did Archie's? teacher make you late" he'd remembered his name. Wow that doesn't happen often unless someone is paying attention. I didn't want to go into the details so just gave a short explanation.

"He's been upset at school a bit" I quickly said.

"Hmmm, there's more to this story, please... tell me what happened... it's good to share... and it's nice for me to have a normal conversation with someone... plus I love kids and I'd like to get to know more about you and your family" his words seemed so genuine.

"Oh you don't want to hear about my boring life"

"I most certainly do, otherwise I wouldn't ask" he now had a very kind smile across his lips that made me feel suddenly at ease.

I told him what had happened with Dave and the recent news he'd cared to share with me about not wanting to see the children on a regular basis.

"Sounds like this guy shouldn't be having more children" Tom said. He'd nodded along listening to me, with an occasional "hmm" and "oh no".

"I can't believe I've told you all that. Sorry... I didn't mean to unload on you. It's just your so easy to talk to" I smiled at Tom. We'd basically turned our chairs to face each other and hardly touched the food on the table as we'd gotten lost in each others company.

"Tom, we're going to head off now, we'll see you tomorrow" Andrew and Douglas stood and said their good byes to us and Tom waved them off.

It was just me, Johnathan and him now.

"Oh my god" Johnathan suddenly exclaimed.

"What, what's wrong?" I asked looking deeply concerned. He was looking at his phone now which he hadn't done the entire time we'd been at the restaurant.

"I... I have to go, Ethan's taken an overdose, I have to get to Edinburgh". Shock and tears were sweeping across his face.

"Of course, go, go! If you need anything please call me" I called after him and he turned and ran out of the restaurant.

Tom looked at me, "are you ok?"

"Yes I'm just shocked, Ethan is one of Johnathan's twin sons. He's at university in Edinburgh. He lost his wife, they're mum last year to cancer. I knew he was struggling but I thought the boys were ok" I was pretty shook, Tom placed his hand on mine.

"Would you like me to take you back to the office?" he asked looking so sweet and kind.

"Actually I was given the rest of the day off, so I'll just head home. I was going to go for a run anyway this afternoon."

"I'll come with you" he said.

"What... To my house... For a run?"

"Well actually I was going to ask if you were free if you'd like to come round to mine as I don't live far and we could go for a run together?"

I was a bit shocked he'd offered, but with the rest of my day free till I picked up the kids from my mother's at 6pm what was stopping me enjoying this man's company a bit more.
