"Excuse me, do you happen to have the time?"

I came to a stop and turned to my left to be met with a stunning pair of blue eyes. Once I tore myself from them, I noticed the stunning head of blonde hair and the stunning white teeth that made up a stunning smile. She was by all accounts a stunning person.

She looked at me expectantly and I realized she hadn't gotten an answer to her question.

"Oh! Um, i-it's five fourteen." I answered with a quick glance at my wrist watch. My cheeks burned with embarrassment. It was unlike me to become speechless around someone. Her forehead wrinkled as that stunning smile faded away from her face.

"Oh, darn it! Well, I suppose I'll have to reschedule then."

I looked at her questioningly, taking in the details of her face that I had failed to notice. She had a light dusting of freckles that spread across her impeccably soft features. Her nose had the slightest upturn to it, and there was a gap between her two front teeth about the size of a toothpick.

She looked at me and her eyes widened.

"Oh! I-I apologize, I'm not always so scatterbrained! My name is Angelica Lockwater, I'm a Ravenclaw!"

That smile returned as she stuck a small hand out for me to shake. I took it and smiled back.

  "Selena Willow. Gryffindor."

She pulled her hand back and adjusted her light pink jacket, as it had started to slip off of her shoulder. It was then that I noticed how slight she was. She couldn't have weighed more than ninety pounds, although she seemed to be about my height.

"I was on my way to meet with my friend, Carol Steaton. She's a Hufflepuff. Do you know her?" I shook my head no and reached a hand up to fiddle with a strand of my hair, a nervous habit that my mother had failed to break me of.

She sighed. "Well, I guess that's that then. I've no more plans for this evening. Carol was only available until five. Her and her boyfriend must've already gone for their date."

She seemed rather dejected, and a creature as beautiful as she should never have any trace of a frown across their face. I couldn't help myself.

"Would you like to walk with me? I-I was just on my way to the library." Her eyes lit up at the invitation. "Oh, that would be marvelous!"

She clasped her hands together and bounced on her toes, causing her short hair to bounce with her. I felt my face heat up just the slightest bit, and looked away with the hope that she hadn't noticed.

"Let's go!" She grabbed my wrist and pulled me down the hallway, almost bringing me to the floor in the process; although, she didn't even seem to notice.

I smiled at her enthusiasm. It was...refreshing. I spent so much time around kids who only spoke of the bad things happening, such as Sirius Black's escape from Azkaban and the Dementor attack during the Quidditch game last week. It was nice to talk to someone who didn't seem to think of the grim current events every waking moment.

I followed the enrapturing girl, feeling as if I was being lured by a siren. The entrancing smell of her perfume trailed behind her, only proving to make me even more spellbound. It was lavender and vanilla, with just a touch of something unrecognizably enticing.

Once we arrived at the library, we set out to find a book that the both of us were interested in. We walked beside each other in the poetry section (my personal favorite) betwixt two large bookcases, shelves full of books from authors I didn't even know existed.
