I stared at the mirror, hating the person that stared back at me. I examined each and every scare that was left on my body, I attempted to shake away my thoughts of the horrifying event that took place a couple months ago, and got in the shower .
I adjusted the water to my liking and let the water run all over my body, I soon closed my eyes and let my thoughts I once tried to shake away consume me.
~flashback~
"Open the door Bree I just wanna talk please"
"No, get the fuck away from my door Desmond for I call the police, you don't think you hurt me enough already "
"Baby I know please let me explain myself". I laughed and stared at the door in disbelief thinking about how delusional this nigga really is.
"Explain what Des, you gotta whole nother' family ,I think I get the picture quite well". At this point my blood was boiling because I feel like he's tryna play me as if I was a fool.
"Bitch open the door !".He yelled and began to kick the door vigorously , I screamed and attempted to call the police but I started to panic and that caused me to shake so much that the phone fell.
By the time I picked the phone up he already kicked lose the door and was hurling towards me , I made a run for the stairs but that quickly failed because he pulled me back by my hair.
"Let me go Desmond now!". I kicked and screamed until his fist collided with my face instantly making my nose bled.
I screamed from the top of my lungs because the pain in my nose was unbearable, "Desmond please st-", I tried to scream but he punched me in mouth.
"Shut the fuck up, if you just would've been a good bitch and did what the fuck I said we wouldn't be in this situation Bree". His eyes were dark and demonic.
He continued to punch and kick all over my body. I tried to block as many hits as I could but my body was growing weak so I laid there bloody and confused.
Why was this happening to me was my last thought before I completely went unconscious.

The more I thought about that day the more i cried. He beat me and left me there not caring if I was dead or alive.
The funny thing about it all is, I didn't press charges because I didn't want to ruin his image or take him away from his family. It sounds stupid but I guess my heart is too big, I really should learn how to put me first.
I quickly shook away my thoughts and got out the shower and got dressed to head to my lunch date with E'lanai. I chose something simple since we were going to TGI Friday.

Once I got done getting dressed, I headed to the parking garage and quickly spotted my all black 2021 Audi q8.
I looked down at my watch realizing that I'm a little late. I quickly made it to my car and began to drive to my destination.

"Ok ok I'm here", I said while speed walking to the booth were E'lanai was sitting.
"Girl you hella late, I told the waitress to go back three times already waiting on you".
"I know, I'm sorry but traffic was crazy today, I tried to come as fast as I could".
I sat down and made myself comfortable before calling the waitress over so that we could order. After ordering, E'lanai looked at me and smiled.
"What", I said looking at her laughing
She smiled again before letting whatever she was thinking come out her mouth. "Bree let's take a trip".
I looked at her like she had three heads. "Umm ms. Ma'am what do you mean let's take a trip, I have a whole business to run, whose gonna take care of that".
"Breeee stop acting like you can't run the business from yo laptop, you just don't wanna go nowhere". I rolled my eyes because she was absolutely right , now I can't even lie, because she's gonna know.
I sighed before rolling my eyes , " A trip to where lanai?".
"I'm not telling you because you're gonna say no".
This girl crazy as hell if she think I'm just gonna go somewhere and ion know where the hell I'm goin. Last time I did that All my clothes got stolen I'll be damned if I do it again.
She did a weird smile before passing me over a plane ticket.
"California! No lanai thats too far"
"We need it tho Bree, especially you, you've been through a lot these last couple months , plus you can't say no because our flight leaves early morning, so get to packing", she said as she got up from the booth and ran to the door before I could object and say no.
I sat there with my mouth wide open not believing what this girl just did.
I grabbed my phone about to call her but I got a message from her saying 'close ya mouth you goin to Cali'.
