(I didn't check my grammar here, soo.. just a heads up and a tiny apology.)
Kenma's POV:
After we all had ordered our food, the group left to wash their hands. I decided to stay back since I had already washed my hands earlier to try a breadstick. I also noticed Kuroo stayed back as well, he was just sitting there. He looked like he was waiting for someone, or something to happen."Kitten."
I looked up, hearing Kuroo call my name. He didn't wait for me to answer. "I'm not actually.. dating.. Yumi." He said, looking away. I nodded, acting as if I had already known that.
"I know. If you actually were dating, Yumi would've told me." I lied. He finally looked down at me, giving me a smirk.
"God, he's hot."
"Oh, is that so? Well, that doesn't explain why you were so mad earlier." He teased. I rolled my eyes at him while putting some of my hair behind my ear. "I was trying to scare ya."
At all honestly, I was really happy that what Kuroo said hadn't been true. His stupid bluffing made me overthink and caused me to throw a scene in front of Shoyo and his boyfriend. I would've even canceled the Hawaii trip with him too.
Anyway, Shoyo and Kageyama were the first ones back to arrive. They seemed to be arguing about something. Shoyo met eyes with Kuroo and me and ran towards the table. "Do I look shorter to you guys?" Kuroo laughed at Shoyo's question, causing other couples to look at where we were sitting. "You've always been that short Shorty."
"Aw jeez, you were suppose to say no," Shoyo pouted. He sat down on his chair while Kageyama came up behind him. Before sitting down, he bent down to whisper something in Shoyo's ear. I couldn't tell what it is, but what he said had made Shoyo turn beat red. Bokuto and Akaashi were the last to come join the table. By the time they came back, Kuroo went in to wash his.
I looked over at Akaashi, seeing him a bit red. I scooted from mine to Kuroo's chair to get closer to him. "You're as red as a tomato." I said to him. I caught his attention and he covered his face quickly.
"Wait seriously? Shit." His jacket loosened up a bit after his panic and I noticed a bunch of bites and hickeys all over his neck. "Goddamn. How many are there?" I asked while looking to see if there were any more on his left side. Akaashi ignored my question and started blushing even more. I chuckled quietly, then saw him hold up the number 10 with his fingers. Although, I think he was only talking about his right side..
As I was watching Akaashi covering to cover his hickeys, I didn't notice a presence walking right behind me. I turned to look back, but was stopped by a hand landing on top of my head. I then left a head come down, next to my ear.
"Hey Kitten, you missed me?"
I jumped at the voice, out of the hand's reach, and saw it was Kuroo.
"When did he get here?"
He laughed, sitting down and I noticed Shoyo staring right at us. "Kuroo, why." I asked. As his laughter died down, he looked at me with a serious look. "You didn't turn red like Shorty did when Kags whispered in his ear." He said. I rolled my eyes at him and then turned towards Shoyo to give him a small wave, reassuring him. In return, I got a thumbs up back.

Timeskip: After they ate

Other than all the teasing I got from Kuroo, I would say that it wasn't a bad "date." We were walking towards the buses to leave Bokuto, Akaashi, Hinata, and Kageyama there since they lived a bit far from me and Kuroo's neighborhood. As we waved our good-byes, Shoyo came up to me and whispered in my ear."Is it okay?" He whispered. By the way he was asking, he seemed worried. I nodded at him, holding a thumbs up. He beamed and jumped up and down. Boy, he was full of energy. He ran towards Kageyama and waved one last time.
Now all that was left was me and Kuroo. We walked towards where I lived first, in silence. For some strange reason, I was full of nervousness. I couldn't bring up what to say or do, and my thoughts weren't helping.
"Should I go in to hold his hand? No, that's weird. Do I look okay? Is my hair messy? Lemme check. Ok. No it's not. Is he staring at me? What if he thinks I look weird? Nah, he wouldn't think that. Would he? Oh god..."
"You look like you want something." I frowned at Kuroo's words, "Yeah, no. I don't." It's not like I was going to admit that I wanted to hold his hand. Kuroo hummed, as if not satisfied with my response. I decided to say something that would catch his attention even more. "A lot of people, well mostly older men, mistake me for a girl here. It kinda gives me the chills. But it's fine, since you're here." My eyes were glued to the ground, impatiently waiting for Kuroo to say something.
Instead, he wrapped one arm around me and pulled me closer to his warm, huge body. His arm was so muscular that it made me think if I wanted to escape from his grip, I most likely wouldn't be able to.
"Kuro?" I said, my head turning upwards to look at him. "You said you had the chills right? It's ok, I'll protect you." His reassuring words made me melt right there on the spot. A slight blush took over me as I nodded, "Ok."
