Ash's POV

"What do you mean I don't get the money? I've done everything you told me! I even MURDERED your own brother for your!"

I'm a hitman, or in this case a hitwoman. I've been murdering people for 3 years now, earning $300 per kill. I don't do it for the hell of it, I do it to support my family. They don't know that I'm killing people though. They think I'm working at the mall.

"I'm saying, your not getting the money, because you almost got caught," the boss said pacing, "you know how much trouble you could've gotten if you actually DID get caught?"

"I know," I sighed, "but I should at least get half of the money since I actually did the job!"

"Fine. Only half though. But next time, you-" he got caught off. I look in his direction and see Cody looking at us, shocked. "Cody... What are you doing here?" I asked, hopeing he didn't hear everything we had just said. "I heard people yelling. So I came to check it out. I just got off work so I went for a walk home instead of driving. Ashley, I don't want you to talk to me anymore. It's not going to work, I was planning on asking you out. You can just forget it now."

"I'll kill him for you. Make it seem like it was just an accident." The Boss had whispered to me. I put a hand out, to stop him. "Cody, we can just be friends, please? I didn't mean for you to find out about this job. I didn't tell you the truth, because you'd be upset. If I ca-"

"No, I don't want you to. I don't want to be friends either. And you thought I was going to be upset when you told me the truth?! How the fuck did you think I was going to react when I did find out the truth. 'Oh hey, my crush is a paid serial killer, let me clap my hands for her I'm so proud'," he said sarcastically, "I'm not some boy you can have swaying. Now me, I've been raised through the craziest and stupidest shit, but this, this is way beyond that." With that, he walked off.

Cody's POV

"That's when I found out the real her. I don't know what imma do now. I can't go back to school, and I certainly can't see her. Not after this. I... I love her. Life isn't fair sometimes. Why can't I get everything I want? Ashley.. my mom to stop hating me.." I said on the phone, talking to my best friend across the country, while petting my cat.

"Life will never be fair. Think of it like this, if you get everything you've ever wanted, don't you think other people will be in your position?" Bradley said, the person I'm on the phone with.

"Well yeah, but-"

"You see, you take things for granted sometimes. Think of it, there's people who have eating disorders, while there's people everywhere else, wanting food to eat. I know why they do it, I mean, I should, I work with them. And I still love them. I guess you'll never know life unless you see it from someone else's point of view. Okay? Don't sweat too much about this, just hear her out. You'll accept her once again. I have to go now, I have a client here waiting." And with that, he hung up.
