(Y/n)'s P.O.V
It's been a year and a couple of months since I've met Armin since he's become someone in my life. When I was a junior, I knew mostly everyone but I hadn't even heard of the name 'Armin', so it came as quite a shock to hear someone like that went to our school.
If someone were to travel back in time and tell me I'd meet such a person, I'd tell them they were out of it and ignore them. Looking back at it now, the only boy I'd ever really interacted with was Connie, so it was hard to adapt to having Armin around most of the time.
But then, as we'd begun to hang out more often, I grew more comfortable around him, I'd begun to trust him bit by bit. I soon found myself starting to become fond of his presence, part of me wanting to see him more and the other playing neutral, telling me I didn't have to or rather, need to.
That part of me wished that the fond feeling was mutual and hoped that he, at least some part of him, wanted to see me more often too. That's when most of my thoughts clouded with images of Armin and all the moments he'd shared with me. Whether they were the ones we'd wish to forget or the ones we'd cherish for as long as we could.
However this may end, I promised myself I'd have no regrets.
_"(Y/N)!"
"—Wake up"
"I think she's dead"
"Really? Even on her death bed, she looks intimidating"
"I'm not dead, morons," I said as I sat up from laying. "And why is it crowded?"
"Great. She's alive, can I leave now?" Annie said.
"You could've said it differently" Ymir exclaimed. "But since she's awake now I'll be taking my leave."
"Are you feeling okay?—"
"She's fine, c'mon," Ymir said, holding Historia's hand.
"Oh okay, if you still feel sick you can call me," Historia said as she gave you an assuring smile.
"Huh?—Sick?" I questioned.
"You don't remember? You blacked out during class out of nowhere" Connie explained.
"I did?"
"Yeah, but lucky for you it was just a fever," Sasha said. "You shouldn't push yourself too far."
"That's it? A fever? You guys had me thinking I was revived from the dead or something" I scoffed.
"Yeah but we've never seen you sick before so we were freaked out" Connie exclaimed.
"Fevers aren't uncommon for me, I don't have a very strong immune system. I just hide it from you guys most of the time" I said, getting up from the bed.
I looked around the room, searching for him.
But he wasn't there."Hey—Where's Armin?" I asked.
"You come back from passing out and you're worried about Armin? Talk about priorities" Jean said.
"Don't be complicated, just tell me" I said.
"Well if you really wanna know, he rushed out to get medicine as soon as he heard you had a fever" Jean added.
And there it was again, that same lump in my stomach, that exact unpleasantry but the pleasant feeling in my stomach, that similar thump in my chest.
That feeling I'd been longing for as long as I could remember. Other people had come to my aid as well, but somehow, hearing that he'd gone out of his way to do that, reached me more than the rest.
_
"It was just a fever.""Are you sure you're okay? Do you need water? Are you hungry? Anything..?"
"Armin, no, I'm fine," I said, giving him an assuring grin.
"Are you s—"
"Yeah we're not doing this," I exclaimed. "I'm fine. Don't worry yourself too much, okay?"
"Okay, fine, I'll take your word for it" Armin sighed as he laid his head on my lap.
"Hey what are you—"
"You want me to get up?" He said, looking up at me with a smirk.
"Forget it," I said as I proceeded to tease his face cheeks. "Your face is surprisingly soft."
"You think so?" He questioned as he began to poke at his face.
"Mhm, you h—"
Armin rose his head up just close enough to place his lips on mine, holding my chin between his thumb and index finger.
"That's payback," He said as he landed back into my laps with a smile. "From last time."
"Armin, I have a question," I said, taking a deep breath.
"What is it?" He said as he grabbed my hand and began fiddling with my fingers.
Exhaling again, I prepare myself for what I'm about to ask.
"What...What do you think of me?" I uttered.
Armin's face formed a bit of a surprised expression, one that showed he didn't expect such a question to come from me.
"Well," He started. "I think you're (Y/n)."
He gave awkwardly-comforting smile as he held my fingers up to his face.
I let out a slight laugh followed by a faint sigh after.
"Thank you for that."
