My cherry red dress hugged from my chest to my hips perfectly, and the sharp angles of the bottoms of it made me look like a lost fairie. I pulled my long, straight blonde hair to one side when I saw him walk in. He was my only reason to drag myself out of my bedroom, to this dance, dressed like a fiery ballerina. I gazed at him as he stood by the door. My green eyes staring into his ice-blue ones, holding a stare that melted my cold looks into a sweet exposition. I didn't care how many adorable guys there were at Jamison High. I knew I had the perfect one.
A quick smile slid over his calm looks. His lips were full and pale, looking beautiful against his almost paper-white skin. I swooned as he came toward me with a mischevous sparkle in his eyes. He looked... stunning! Every day that I saw him, he had always looked like any other guy to other girls. His hair was messy and brunette, bangs over one eye. He had always worn baggy tee shirts and cargo pants. Tonight, every girl stared at him in amazement.
A few blonde strips danced in his gorgeous hair. His white button-up shirt and black dress pants made him look simple and like a rule-breaker at the same time. His eyes held mine the entire time that he had been walking up to me. I could feel my heart race and a light smile play apon my lips as well.
"Well," he grinned, "I think you've won being the most gorgeous girl in the room."
"Look who's talking about being gorgeous!" I giggled, wrapping my arms around him. I loved the way he was always warm.
He stepped back, and spun me around. I blushed, noticing that he was looking over not only my dress, but me. His fingers intertwined with mine, warming my hands. I closed my eyes. It was like nothing else mattered in the world beyond this moment.
"Do you want to dance with me?" he whispered to me, as a slow song came on.
"Definately," I replied, squeezing his hand.
He took me out to the dance floor, and bowed to me. We both laughed, but held hands. He spun and twirled me around, making me dizzy. I loved the way he was strong and graceful when dancing. He looked so serious, so passionate. It was one of the many reasons I fell in love with Kevin. He was in love with only two things in life: me and music.
"Dont stop here," he sang to me with a deep, rich tennor voice.
"I lost my place," I sang back in my sopranno voice.
"Im close behind," we sang together harmoniously. "Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo. You finally find, you and I collide..."
He spun me one more time as the song ended, and wrapped his arms around my waist. His lips delicately touched my cheek. Once again, my cheeks were bright and rosey. We swayed on the together to the song that came on.
"Come away with me," he murmered warmly in my ear.
"Where to?" I asked, turning to face him, my hand in his.
"Outside," he told me, raising my hand to his lips. "There's something I want to tell you."
He pressed his soft lips to my hand, sending a spray of chills up my arm. He led me out the gym door, and into the hall. We passed couples and groups who seemed tired already, strewn through out the hall way. Slowly he led me out to the warm night air. My hair and dress ruffled and danced in the cool breeze.
"Jasmine," he started. He stopped though, looking worried. I tightened my grip on his hand.
"Yes?" I urged with a sweet tone.
"Jasmine," he began again, gaining confidence. He stared me straight in the eyes, and puffed his chest out a little. "Jasmine Marie Kane, I-I love you."
He got down on one knee, and held out a small box with a fancy French name on it. Antonette Jewlery, I read it, and gulped. My nimble fingers shook a little, as I openned the box. Tears welled up in my eyes. In the box was a diamond necklace, with little flower designs.
"Its-its beautiful," I gasped, my fingers tracing over every little diamond. It must have cost him a fortune...
"A beautiful necklace," he smiled, getting it up and taking it out of the box, "for a beautiful girl."
I pulled my hair over my shoulder, letting him put it around my neck. He clasped it around my neck smoothly. I faced him and kissed him on the lips. My body shook with sobs of both happiness and misery.
"Are you alright honey?" he questioned with fear in his voice.
"I will be when I see you again," I cried. "I love you... Goodbye..."
I watched as everything faded once again, him slipping away as well. Like every other time, I awoke in my bed. My hands rested on my neck, over my diamond necklace. Tears fell from my eyes into my blonde hair.
"Kevin," I whispered to the empty air around me in my room, "I miss you..."
