The worst way to wake up is with an overly-dramatic screaming Leo and a metal dragon that tries to claw your eyes out.
I was dreaming about delicious blue cookies, cupcakes, ice cream, and blue food dye. And the best part? Annabeth let me eat all of it. Right when I was about to take a bite out of the yummy blue cookies with blue chocolate chips, Leo rudely interrupted me, who decided it was a good time to let Festus out for a stretch.
Long story short: Festus was- for some reason- mad at me, and decided to destroy the Poseidon Cabin into splinters, getting me bruised in the process. Then he started charging toward me full speed, with Leo screaming his face off. Out of instinct, I unleashed the water from the faucet that was now buried underneath rubble, because Festus tried to make me into his dinner! Anyways, Festus decided that boiling my eyes in a cook-pot was better. The sharp claw fingernail things started to thrash at me, but me being the smart guy that I was, decided to run for it with Festus right at my heel and Leo yelling even louder. Jeez... How loud can this kid be? His scream is even worse than Mondays and Alarm Clocks... And his voice is higher than a fire truck... Back to what I was saying. There was a nice glittering lake that looked refreshing and cool, so I cannonballed into the lake, soaring through the air like Jason, one of my friends. Being the great friend Leo was, he was worried that Festus would get damaged in the water, and didn't even bother to worry that I almost got killed! So Leo managed to get Festus away from me...
Right now, I'm just lounging by the lake and watching Annabeth have a rage-fest. To be honest, I feel bad for Leo. Whenever Annabeth is angry, she is angry and REALLY scary, like, get out her dagger and chase him around camp screaming bloody-murder angry.
"YOU LET FESTUS OUT IN THE EARLY MORNING, BROKE DOWN THE POSEIDON CABIN, AND ALMOST KILLED MY BOYFRIEND IN 30 MINUTES! LEO VALDEZ! DON'T YOU DARE WALK AWAY!" Annabeth shrieked in Leo's frightened face, her face tomato-red with anger and her striking grey eyes a stormy color with a glint of red inside.
"I'm sorry, okay?" Leo squeaked, trying to run away.
"SORRY, VALDEZ, DOES NOT HELP IT!" Annabeth bellowed, steam coming out of her ears.
Just as I was about to go find my other friends, Jason came into view. He plopped down on the space beside me, looking stony but still attempting to stifle his laugh.
"Hey man. What happened?" Jason greeted, gesturing toward Annabeth and Leo.
"Annabeth happened," I grinned while watching Annabeth attempting to smack Leo on the head with a newspaper roll. "She's really mad. Better not go there now."
"Yeah, man. But don't you think that Leo had his fair share of Annabeth?" Jason asked, fingering a penny that he was holding.
"That's true. Wanna annoy Annabeth then?" My grin only became wider as he pulled himself up from the ground.
"I mean... I would, but giving these circumstances she's in right now.... probably not. I'll just be here to prepare your funeral," Jason laughed, slowly backing away to a safe distance.
I smirked back at my friend before summoning the water from the lake and forming it into a perfectly round ball that levitated above the ground. Then, I made the ball drift above Annabeth's head with my hand motions. At the last second when Annabeth was about to tackle Leo, I released my hold and dropped the whole sphere of water on her head. Leo took the moment to run away and seek refuge while Annabeth started storming toward me, glowering at my laughing face.
"PERSEUS JACKSON!"
Uh oh. Maybe I went a little too far with the annoyance?
"It's... pretty hot out here... right?" I commented, laughing nervously.
