"If you love something or someone, you don't ever give up on it. Life's not easy but hold on to the things that matter, even if you have to use some fingernails. I told one of you once that you don't throw away the things that matter."

― Mariana Zapata, The Best Thing.

Disclaimer: Selaaam! This is an extended scene from episode 36, so it has dialogue I stole from the episode and tweaked how I liked. It has mature content, a bit of profanity, and a bit of smut.  If you won't like that, you have been warned. If you're into that, hoşgeldiniz! I hope you enjoy it, thanks for reading, and please forgive me for the rough editing (and by rough editing I mean almost no editing).

Eda

It was certainly a surreal day, she thought as they went up the stairs that led to Serkan's apartment. He opened the door and gestured for her to go before him.

"It's a good thing we decided to come back. Otherwise, we'd be getting all this rain on us."

"Yes, we'd be wet, but it'd be nothing, Eda. I am madly in love with you, and nothing else matters," he said with an amused glint in his eyes.

"Really? Still with the silly jokes, huh?" She smiled at him.

"Well, everything has a price, I remembered you and everything. So now you'll have to bear the bad jokes in our relationship."

"It's fine. I still get the better deal."

"Do you?" Even though he knew she meant what she said, she guessed he needed to hear her saying the words then.

"Hmhmm, I can listen to them for the rest of my life. I will even laugh... to make you feel good about yourself."

"Great. Welcome back home," he looked around them with sad eyes. She remembered when he found her asleep in their bed and she threw all of her clothes at him, in the least sexy way.

"Home... home is wherever you are, Serkan. I think, maybe, we should leave this place? Start fresh somewhere else?" She knew Selin probably had been there... and she did not want to think of her.

"Sure, that's a good idea. New house, new beginnings, yeah. It could be anywhere, it doesn't have to be in this city or even this country, right? We'll soon be making the Bolat family bigger, so..." he stopped talking in order to look at her again and sighed "ah, yes, I missed you so much."

"How do you know?"

"Because this house smells like you," he spoke against her temple.

"I missed you too, so much. I feel so drained from today that it feels like I'm going to be sick," she confessed, prompting another one of his not so brilliant jokes.

"Well, we should call Deniz then, what is it they say on those occasions? In sickness and in health, right?" Making her head go back backward.

"Why are you reminding me of that now?"

"You signed the papers, Eda."

"Yes, I signed a fake document for a fake ceremony, as I've already explained to you many times today. What was I supposed to do, there were people who knew it wasn't real but there were so many more that didn't know, I had to pretend to sign something so that it looked legit in case you didn't show up. And in case you did but hesitated to come to talk to me. You're one to talk, you should have remembered me way before that, Serkan bey? What would you have me do?" She demanded, exasperated.
