That evening, I was sitting in Cara's room being attacked by a pair of curlers whilst Mari and Emma dolled themselves up.
Cara had decided that 'Yeah Anne, your makeups great. So is your hair, but tonight you have to leave it to me, promise?' Was the way forward with me, and I couldn't complain.
Well I could, considering I'd even burned twice already.
"Your hair is so thick, it makes this so fucking difficult." Cara said, frustrated and struggling.
Fast forward to an hour and a half later, I was wearing black fishnet tights, creepers with frilly socks and a black and white skater dress.
Cara said she was going for the 'dark and seductive grunge but still cute and preppy' look, and topped it off with dark eye makeup and of course my curled hair which seemed to rest perfectly at my shoulders.
"Holy shit, you look hot." Emma gushed, eyeing me up and tugging a bit at my dress then brushing it down.
All of them looked stunning.
Mari wore a short but classy electric blue dress along with white stiletto heels, and for a change she straightened her hair.
Emma went for a cuter approach with dungaree shorts and a slimming black long sleeved and scoop necked top, which suited her fringe and small frame very well.
And Cara being Cara, went for a long, figure hugging expensive looking dark crimson dress with an open back.
She also went with 6 inch heels, and I have to say she looked fantastic.
"Okay. Everyone should be arriving in about 15 minutes, but that could be earlier or later. Mari and Emma, you guys go into the shed and bring out all the booze you see in there." Cara ordered, grinning.
"No way, how'd you get alcohol?" Emma questioned, her eyes practically popping out of her head with excitement.
"Questions later." She laughed and they both scurried away.
"How did you?" I asked.
"Well. I've got a few friends who were willing to help me. You know Simon, yeah?"
Simon. One of Cara's reasonably older friends who she met at a gig, probably.
"Yeah. Well, there goes my idea of this being a quiet birthday get together." I sighed sarcastically and looked away dramatically.
Cara smiled. "You love me really."
*
I never really knew how much I hated parties until that day.
I didn't even see the point in it. Everyone just got high, drunk or they make out in a corner to really loud music.
Everyone started arriving about 20 minutes later and by 8 Cara's reasonably big house seemed to be filling up already, with some of the people who I didn't even know. Who did she even invite?
"Hey, Anne." I heard from behind me and turned to see Brodie, looking absolutely stunning and also a bit lost.
"Oh, hey!" I exclaimed, giving her a quick hug. "Finally, someone I actually know." I giggled.
"Yeah... I don't recognise many people here. But I should warn you I'm sure I saw Lewis outside... Maybe now's your chance to make a move." She winked.
"Shut up, you." I said, trying not to smile.
"I'm going to get a beer, want anything?"
"Yeah, fuck it I'll just have cider, and if that's not available I'll take anything. I'm going to need it." I responded.
"Thanks. See you in a minute."
Brodie made her way through the crowd when Mari appeared, desperately shoving everyone out the way and squealing.
"Hey are you oka-" I was cut off as she grasped onto both of my shoulders, out of breath.
"You know that hot music teacher? He's here." She panted.
My stomach swooped and I wasn't sure if it was in a good way or a bad way.
"No way. How?" I sort of gasped.
"These people I just started talking to's friend," She said. "Come see him?"
"I'm waiting on Brodie, she's getting me a drink-"
"That can wait." She groaned and grabbed my arm, practically dragging me into Cara's kitchen.
And there he was. He was with a few other guys, holding a bottle of Budweiser and laughing.
I had to say, he wasn't looking too bad either. Skinny jeans and a plaid shirt.
And then he looked up and saw us. It must have looked quite terrifying too, considering Mari had a death grip on my arm and seemed to be smiling like a maniac whilst I looked seconds from crying.
I was way too sober for this.
And by the looks of things, so was he.
He sort of stared in horror as if he just realised that this was my party and he was in my party.
"Mari I think I'm going to just leave the room-"
"Don't be silly, come here!" Mari cut me off and, also almost cut off the circulation to my hand with the force she was using to grip onto my wrist as she hauled me over to his circle.
"Hey guys, this is Anne. This party is actually for her." Mari giggled and introduced me to her new 'friends'.
"Anne, this is Alex, Jesse, Sam and Ricky." Mari smiled.
"Hey," I said, to them all, them all nodding and smiling at me in response then I awkwardly turned to Ricky.
"I had no idea this was all for you. I'm glad it is, though." He grinned and raised his bottle a little.
I laughed awkwardly, and said, "Thanks. Um."
Then stared down at the floor.
"Care to show me around?" He asked.
I looked up to him, then to Mari who's eyes were bulging with excitement, and back at him.
"Sure, why not." I replied.
"Lead the way." he grinned.
So I tried to ignore the feeling that I was made of stone and headed out the kitchen, being greeted by a crowd of people out in the hallway.
"Woah. I better stay close to you." I heard from behind me, and I couldn't stop myself from feeling a bit fluttery.
He moved so close I could feel him against me as we moved among the people.
"This is the hallway," I tilted my head slightly up to him. "I'm pretty sure you would know that. There's a door over there, and the living room is through that door." I pointed to it, and we sort of pushed our way through.
I showed Ricky most of the downstairs floor, quite enjoying myself. It made me feel happy to be around him.
He laughed and grinned a lot, commented on what I said occasionally and let me lead him about.
"So, are we going to pretend I didn't come to your party not knowing it was yours on Monday, or should we somehow appreciate that it happened?" He asked, sort of sarcastically.
"Hmm. I say we go for the second one." I said. Was that too risky? My head was spinning, but it had nothing to do with alcohol.
"I say we do that too. I really enjoy being around you, you know." He flirted, and it made my stomach flip.
"Do you recognise anyone else from my year?" I asked him.
"Yeah. There's a guy in your class and a few of his friends. Blonde hair, I think."
"Lewis, probably." I sighed.
"Don't like him?" He questioned, sounding morbidly curious.
"You could say that. He's probably out his face as we speak." I raised my eyebrows, not like he could see.
"Hm. Why don't you like him?" He seemed concerned, which made me a little wary.
"He doesn't leave me alone." I laughed, trying to make a joke out of it.
"If he is drunk, stay away from him." Ricky said, sternly but still half joking.
"I won't be trying to find him anytime soon," I assured.
We got to the stairs when Ricky turned me around. Fuck, we were close to each other now.
He sort of lingered, and I saw his eyes move to my lips then back to my eyes.
"Do you want a drink?" He asked, moving away again.
"Yeah, why not." I responded, my heart beating quickly.
"Stay here, I'll be back in a minute." He winked and headed out of sight.
Did he mean to get so close? Did he feel what I felt? My heart was racing. Did I feel anything for him?
I mean, I'd gotten to know him better. I wasn't fully there but he was so alluring. I felt safe near him.
But in the next moment whilst he was no where to be seen, I didn't feel as safe as I did.
"Alright, gorgeous." A slurred and most definitely drunk voice said from my right.
My stomach sank a little as I realised who it was.
I turned to look at him and saw he wasn't alone, there was three other boys I sort of recognised from school.
"Hello, Lewis." I sort of muttered, and attempted to weave my way through the crowd when one of his friends pulled me back and threw me over to him. I was so shocked by what had just happened, that I didn't fight.
"You look so good tonight, baby." He purred in my ear, which is when I snapped out of it and I struggled against him but it didn't do much.
The next thing I knew something small and round was getting forced down my throat.
I was struggling a lot, angry and scared that he managed to give me an unknown substance. I wanted to scream. How did I let this happen? His friends were surrounding us so no one could see me retaliating or him holding me against my will.
Where is Ricky? I thought, terrified and getting drowsy.
My vision was fading and I tried to do my best to stay alert but I was drifting away from the party and entering a world much more sinister.
My knees gave way before I knew it and I sloped to the side, ending up on the bottom of the stairs.
And that was when someone shoved through Lewis's friends, looked at me and then punched Lewis square in the face. He fell to his knees and I fell out of consciousness.

Dramaaaaa!
Sorry this chapter is so short, I meant for the party to go on longer than that but I don't realise how little I'm writing until I check it over again.
But anyways, I'll try my best to have another chapter done in a couple of days.
