"Branch.. I keep on thinking about.. What would've happened if you had never become a pop troll again after being rock branch, and it scares me.. I.." Poppy hugged her legs tightly.
"Hey.. Don't be sad.. I'm back to normal. I'm right here." Branch held Poppy's hands in his. "You know that. But, if it ever scares you again, you can always come find me."
Poppy smiled. She hugged Branch. "Thanks Branch.. You're an amazing friend.."
Branch hugged her back, but frowned. That's the problem.. Branch thought to himself.
Tatum noticed this. "HEY, POPPY!"
Poppy looked at Tatum. "Hm?"
"WHY'D YOU SAY FRIEND INSTEAD OF BOYFRIEND?" Tatum smirked.
Branch's face went red. "U-Uhh..."
Poppy's face went pink. "He's not my boyfriend, Tatum.. He's just my best friend."
Val and Barb glared at her. "WHAT ABOUT US!?"
"Yes, and you guys, too!" Poppy rubbed the back of her neck.
Tatum sat down. "Think whatever you like, Poppy Timberlake, but we all know.."
Branch's face was even redder. "U-Umm.. Timberlake is my last name"
"That's the point." Tatum smiled at Branch as sunglasses fell on her face in the exact correct position 😎
"U-UHH.." Branch looked down at the floor.
"Stop teasing, guys. I get that you're having fun, but look at Branch. He's practically Bob!" Poppy gestured towards Branch.
"Bob..?" Branch looked at Poppy.
"Yeah, Bob the tomato!" Poppy smiled 😁
Branch sighed and buried his face in his hands.
Dixie started the caterbus. "Bark, calm down."
"I-It's Branch.." Branch looked at Dixie.
"SHUT UP, BARK" Dixie started driving.
Branch sighed.
"You okay, Branch..?" Poppy looked at Branch.
"I.." Branch looked down.
"Come on, you can tell me." Poppy held Branch's hands. "I'm your best friend" Poppy smiled.
"But.. that's the problem.." Branch fiddled with his fingers.
Poppy's eyes widened. "W-What..? Do you not wanna be friends..?"
Branch instantly regretted his choice of words and felt horrible about what he said. "P-Poppy, wait, that's not what I meant.."
"No.. It's fine.. I get it.." Poppy faced the window, a tear dripping down her cheek.
Branch's heart broke. His eyes were wide, and his worst nightmare had just begun. What have I done..? Branch thought. He began to cry silently.
The bus had stopped.
"Are we already here?" Darnell stood up.
"No.. The bus.. won't move." Dixie sat still in her seat.
Darnell sat back down. "Oh shoot.."
"DARNELL! LANGUAGE!" Tatum glared at Darnell.
"Well, I apologize, Butterscotch cookie.." Darnell rolled his eyes.
"DARNELL!" Tatum crossed her arms.
"I-I'll go look at the bus from the outside.." Branch stood up, wiping away a tear.
"I'm the queen.. I should go, too.." poppy stood up.
"Ooh.." Tatum smiled.
"No, Tatum.. This isn't what you think.." Branch walked off the bus and looked at it from the outside.
Poppy followed. "Looks like it's just stuck.." Poppy used her hair to lift the bus, and move it forward a bit.
The bus started to drive off without them.
"N-NO! THE BUS!!" Branch watched as the bus drove off.
"Well, Bark.. Looks like it's just you and me.." Poppy sat on the grass and hugged her legs.
"P-Poppy, I.." Branch looked at Poppy sadly.
"No, Branch.. You don't have to say anything.."
