The Ocean - AOT FANFIC

Armin... Can you see it?

It's.... The ocean....

Eren's POV:

We.... Made it..... Humanity has finally reclaimed the earth as its own!

Connie and Sasha are already attacking the ocean and using it to Attack each other. Hanji is using 3D Manuver gear to fly around the palm trees while Jean and Historia are trying to calm her down. On the other hand.... To gain this freedom we also had to pay a great price, leaving a heavy toll pulling down on all of us.
Me and Mikasa lost someone very dear to us... And we can never get him back.

"I'm going.... To go sit over there for a minute.... Just make sure he can see it" she said hanging her head low, walking towards a few rocks and sitting on one far away from the rest of the group.

I was holding our blonde friends lifeless body in my arms. Tears steamed down my face and I smiled standing further out to sea, carrying Armins corpse in my arms.

I looked out to the sea with a proud smile, holding back the sobs that threatened to lose control soon enough and I managed to say,

"We made it.... I'm sorry Armin" I bit back my tears.

"I'm sorry... you didn't get to... See the sea" i tightened my grasp on him and let the crying continue.

I suddenly halted as I felt someone touch my shoulder as my eyes shot open.

"It's okay Eren, I did see it" I heard the gentle voice of the late Armin and I spun around. He wasn't there. I looked around violently for him but then I realised what had happened and I turned back to the sea with a warm smile, we had no regrets.

"you can finally rest in rest in peace"

I let the sea take him away. He was so delicate but his death face was a face of peace.

"Thankyou.... Armin"

I walked even further from the group over to Mikasa and she looked up with a teary face.

"Did... He see.... It?" She managed through sobs.

"Yeah.... He did" I walked over and sat next to her and held her in a tight embrace, stroking her silky black locks.

"That's good" she said with her face buried in my shoulder. I pulled apart and wiped her face.

"We're free now" I smiled to her and she gently nodded returning a beautiful and graceful and soft smile.
I don't know how long we we're hugging each other until we heard Connie and Sasha teasing us in the background and then pulling us onto the sand whilst we held hands earning more mockery from the pair of looneys.

Even if we are free and Armin... Isn't physically here.... He is here... Watching over us... I know he is.
