After that, the higher ended up dying trying to save her daughter. And it was a couple of months later after that. I was learning the ways of those things. The boys learned I don't talk much, in fact, they don't even know my name.
I have never talked yet. But I have gotten to know the boys since then. Atlas was chill. He talked and was very easy to get along with. But he was reckless.
One of the twins was named Ash. Ash was the flirty one, he often flirts with me and tried to impress me. But he also had a serious side.
The other twin was named Ace. He was the level-headed one. He was nice, but he would often follow his brother's attics.
And those creatures, I learned a lot. The moment you are bit, there is no going back, you will turn into one of them. And they don't feel. If they have a bone sticking out of their leg, they will still run at you at full sprint. They never got tried, and no matter what you do to them, they won't die unless you hit the head. And they have a hell of a good hearing. But their vision is very bad. And that they don't need to eat, they do it out of spite.
And one more thing: they are the predator, we are the prey.
I walked down the stairs, hearing the boys talk. They saw me as I softly yawned. "Someone is tired," Atlas said smirking at me. "How long has it been since we have been trapped in this house?"
I looked at the boarded-up windows and door. I then held up three. "Three months~," Ace said.
"We are running out of food. We need to get more" Ash said. I stared at them.
Go out there? They are crazy!! I thought. But I knew they were right.
We then heard talking coming from outside. I recognized the voices all too well. It was late into the night. So it was a little surprising to hear people.
"We haven't found Riya yet... You think she is..." She heard a female voice.
"No... No Riya is smart. She wouldn't have died easily" She heard a male voice.
I gasped and quickly ran to the door. I knew it would take too long to unboard the doors before they would walk.
"What is wrong?" Atlas said walking up to a window and looking out to see a boy and girl. "Whoa, it's people"
"My... Friends" I quietly whispered. Atlas looked at me.
"... What did you say?" Atlas said in shock that I even spoke.
"They're my friends..." I mumbled.
"You know them? We should let them in then-" I quickly pulled Ace away from the door. They all looked at me confused. I shook my head.
"I... No..." I whispered.
"Hello? Anyone in there?" They heard Aicha. "No point in hiding~ we heard you"
"Aicha, be quieter, those things could hear us. We aren't even sure if these people are like the others we have met" Alex said.
"Yeah, but Riya could be in there," Aicha said. "And Emily. I wanna see Emily without the makeup~ and dressy clothes~"
My eyes widen as I covered my mouth as tears threatened my eyes. I shook my head as I backed away.
"So your name is Riya?" Ash said.
"... I don't know why you don't want to allow them in... But I think having your friends here will help. Even having more people. I'm letting them in" Atlas said.
"Hey! We are here! We are going to let you guys in" Ash said as he grabbed the hammer and started to pull the boards off.
"Thank you~," Aicha said. "See, new friends. You need to learn how to trust people~ little comic nerd~"
"Yeah yeah~ Let's just hope they know where she might be" Alex mumbled as the door started to unlock.
As the door opened I made eye contact with Alex and Aicha. "... Riya?" They both said.
Aicha then ran up to me and hugged me. "I thought you and Emily died!!" She started to cry. I only started to softly whimper. She still thought Emily was alive.
I ran away from Emily. I knew she was going to mad at me once I told her. "I'm sorry~" I whispered
