It's a late night about quarter past midnight, and I find myself staring out at the moon admiring it's beauty. At the corner of my eye I find a single piece of a puzzle on the left hand side of the window sill, after a few seconds of wondering why it had been placed on the windowsill I pick it up with my hand and I notice it has picked up a little bit of dust like it had been forgotten about.

I could never forget about it because that one single piece of the puzzle has the importance of completing the whole picture. Wiping off the collected dust, I look at the small puzzle piece and try to figure out the picture, I try to use the light from the moon, but the light is not bright enough to fully see it. However, that does not change my thought's on how special it is.

The night sky tonight is filled with stars and the moon is full and shining down, which has casted a silhouette of the puzzle onto the wall in my bedroom.

'Darling are you alright?'. My mother asks when she flicks on the bathroom light and notices that I am sitting on the windowsill.

'Hey mum, I'm good I am just taking in the beauty of the night sky'. I reply then turn to the moon again.

'Scooch over'. My mother says and I do just that, we sit silently for a couple of seconds not because we have nothing to say, but because we are taking in the sight.

'Mum, how do you become strong?'. I ask her quietly.

'What made you ask that darling'. My mother answers back with another question.

'Because when I look at you that is what I see. A smart, strong and fierce women'. I admit and I cannot help but cuddle her because if there is one person in the world I admire the most its my mum. Throughout her life she has faced many obstacles and barriers some good and some bad, and every time my mother has fought them.

'Wow, thank you'. My mother says while she sobs into my shoulder, and in this moment I finally realise why I felt attached to the puzzle piece I found tonight. It is because my mum, she is the puzzle piece, the piece that has inspired me to become the strong, smart and fierce women that I am today.
