3rd Person POV

Days have passed, yet the rose family still treats their own son like a slave. An animal that has no purpose but to be beaten down over and over again.

The young Y/N has grown used to this kind of treatment. As a result, he gained a near immunity to pain as a whole.

Speaking of which, the broken rose was visited by his two sisters. Of course these sisters being Ruby and Yang.

Y/N POV

I hear the door creak open. Knowing that I will once again serve as a punching bag to one of my "family", I just laid there.

Ruby: Hey Y/N, guess what?

She started to talk in a very cocky and annoying manner. It makes me wanna punch her, but knowing that it won't change anything and just make things worse for me, I just stayed silent.

Yang: We're gonna go to the water park. And you know the best part? You're gonna be left here, sulking.

They begin to laugh at my poor state. I didn't really care about them leaving me behind. In fact, it might actually be better.

At least this way, they won't be able to do anything to me for a full day. I was excited, seeing that I will have some more time to myself.

Suddenly, my "mother" stands at the doorway.

Summer: Alright you two, let's not waste anymore time talking to garbage. We have a whole day of fun ahead of us!

Both: Yes mom/auntie!

They both taunt me one more time before going leaving.

Summer on the other hand, decided to give a look of disappointment that resonates the same energy as one would when they are questioning the existence of another person.

The door shuts, leaving me once again to my thoughts.

I look up the ceiling as I wonder,

Y/N: 'When will this hell end?'

I open my mouth for the first time since like what. Three months? Saying  something before my eyes close.

Y/N: Someone, please. Help me.

??? POV

It seems as though the entire family has left the house for the day. Good.

I will use this opportunity to finally set that child free. No-one deserves to live their life like this.

Opening the window of the room of the second floor, I see the little one laying on the floor.

Tears running down his closed eyes. Poor thing.

I pick him up gently, making sure he doesn't wake up.

Falling from the window, I land on the back of my horse and ride deep into the forest.

From now on. I, Skull knight, shall raise this child to the best of my abilities.

Ruby POV

As we come back home, I smile to myself. Knowing how good it's gonna feel telling Y/N about how much fun we had today. I'm sure Yang is thinking the same.

Opening the door and stepping inside, suddenly something feels different.

The urge to mock or even hurt Y/N suddenly faded away.

It was replaced with a feeling of worry and guilt for the things I had done to him.

Realising what I've been doing all these years to my brother, tears threatened to fall form my eyes.

I managed to stop them from falling, luckily.

Wiping my eyes I stare at mom and the others. To my surprise, it looked like they did the exact same thing as I did.

Since it seems like they were wiping their eyes that seems as though they just finished weeping.

Ruby: If you all don't mind, I'm gonna go check on Y/N.

Yang: Wait Ruby, I'm coming with you.

Summer: Me too, I feel like seeing how my son is doing.

Tai: Me three, I wanna see him for the same reason as summer.

Qrow: Count me and raven in too. Haven't seen my nephew in a while, might as well say hi or something.

Raven: What he said.

We all head up to Y/N's room and knock on the door for the very first time instead of just entering.

Ruby: Hey uh, Y/N? Can you please open the door? We wanna talk to you and see how you're doing.

No response. I start to get really nervous.

Mom was the one that decided to knock this time.

Ruby: Y/N?

Summer: Dear, I know that we've been very bad to you. But, we want to make up for it. So how about you open this door so that we can talk and treat your wounds. After that, we can have dinner. Okay?

Once again, no response. Okay, now I'm starting to freak out a bit.

Tai: Son, you in there?

Raven: Enough of this. Y/N, we're coming in.

Qrow: Raven wai-

Auntie opened the door without hesitation and we were greeted with an empty room with no-one in sight.

My stomach dropped. Oh no, what if he ran away? Or maybe he was kidnapped? What's gonna happen to him?

I started to freak out and I'm sure that I wasn't the only one. The rest of my family started to look around the house for my brother.

While I just stood there at the doorway motionless.

Today marked the day, where everything changed for worse.

Which is weird since I only used this story as a sample on how I write on this app two years ago.

Anyway, now it's back since I keep getting notifications on you guys putting it on your reading lists for some reason.

Hope you enjoyed.
