Cliffhanger central with the prologue! Sorry about that but I gotta keep things in suspense for now.
Also apologies for this taking so long, but I'm v v busy right now and I'm battling another bout of writer's block. So, bear with me for now, and enjoy the new chapter :)

"And where is my boyfriend?"
WHAT?
The moments after Perrie's outburst were a blur. People talking all at once, rushing around the room. Perrie was still shouting above the din, trying to figure out who I was, why I was here, and why Jesy and Leigh Anne looked so familiar.
I was the only one who wasn't participating in the swell of noise. I was standing in the same spot in front of the chair, frozen with shock as I stared at her. My stomach was churning as my wide eyes filled with tears. She didn't remember me. We'd just found each other again, just fallen in love, when she was taken from me again.
Almost immediately after everyone started talking doctors rushed into the room and started ushering people out. Once everyone was in the hallway one of the doctors gestured to Debbie and Alexander, undoubtedly to talk to them about Perrie's condition.
I didn't hear much of the conversation, but I caught the words, "selective amnesia." My throat closed up and my eyes started to water. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Perrie, my childhood best friend, my girlfriend, didn't remember me.
I watched as the nurse patted a distraught Debbie on the back gently and walked away from them. As she passed me I called out. "Excuse me?"
She paused, and turned toward me. "Yes?" She said.
"I ... heard you talking about selective amnesia," I tentatively began, "is there anything you can tell me about Perrie's condition? I just need to know if she's going to be okay."
She hesitated, then conceded as she saw the desperation in my eyes. "Selective amnesia is where the sufferer loses certain parts of their memory due to trauma or stress. The things that are most likely to be forgotten are relationships, where they live, and events such as concerts, shows, or traumatic events. In Miss Edwards' case, she's forgotten her relationship with you entirely."
I swallowed, fighting back more tears. How could this be happening? Why us? "Will ... will she get better?" I asked quietly.
She sighed, and regarded me with so much pity it was painful. "In most cases, amnesia resolves itself without treatment," she replied. "It will just take time."
"So she'll remember me again?" I asked hopefully.
"We ran some tests while she was under to see if any underlying physical or mental disorders were present, because in that case treatment might be necessary," she said. I was surprised that she was giving me so much information, but I guessed it was probably because she felt sorry for me. "We haven't gotten the results back yet. I'm truly sorry miss, I can see how much she means to you."
I nodded, my eyes on the tiled floor. "You have no idea," I whispered. She gave me a sympathetic smile and brushed past me, continuing down the hall.
I sniffed again, and jumped as I felt a pair of arms wrap around me. "It's gonna be okay," Leigh Anne whispered, leaning her head against mine, "I promise."
"Is it?" I said, my voice breaking as I thought again of the blank look on Perrie's face as she looked at me. "I love her, Leigh. I can't imagine living a life where she doesn't know who I am."
