Mickey’s Point of View
I was sitting next to Becky, holding her hand. Talking to her trying to wake her up
Bringing up old memories from when we were younger
“And remember when we fought over Tyler in 7th grade?” I said smiling at the memory
I’ve been crying for the past 6 days
But I’ve been crying the most today because tomorrow is Becky’s last day on life support
Her parents can’t afford to keep her in life support any longer.
Some parents they are. Instead of staying here for her, they take a vacation and spend all their money on that.
Fucking bitches..
Robert came next to me and hugged me
“I miss her so much” I sobbed
He rubbed my back and kissed my head
“Me too baby. All of us miss her”
I glanced at Alex and Sarah
Sarah in Alex’s arms, both of them a sleep
You can tell they’ve been crying
I sighed as more tears came streaming down
Turning back to Becky, talking to her more
Robert by my side the entire time
None of us left her.
All of a sudden the door burst open
Me and Robert turned and Sarah and Alex woke up
Seeing Austin at the door
He looked like a complete mess
His eyes were red and puffy
He’s been crying.
“AUSTIN!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” I yelled
I was so angry
He has the nerve to come here?!
He was searching around until he saw Becky’s body
At first, he looked confused
But then I saw the old him. His eyes were filled with love, concern, and… anger?
He was looking at Becky and he touched his neck.
I saw a tear slip out
I turned around to see what he was looking at
The necklace he gave her for her 15th birthday…
Austin has one exactly like hers
They promise each other that they would never take it out
She kept her promise
But when I looked at Austin’s… he was wearing the dog tag Taylor gave him..
He took his off.
And broke their promise…
Anger boiled in me
“You fucking bastard…” I whispered
He came closer
“Did… Did I do this to her?” He asked with tears pouring out
“…yes you did.” I told disappointingly
Tears came out of my eyes
So did Austin
He sat across from her and took her hand
“I’m so sorry Becky. Im sorry that I did this to you” He said and started sobbing
I can see the old Austin
The Austin we all know and love
Even though he’s hurt all of us so much and broke all his promises, we still love him
I got out of Robert’s arms and sat next to Austin
And pulled him into a hug
He started crying in my shoulder like there’s no tomorrow
While I started crying on his shoulder
“I-Im so sorry Mickey. Im so sorry I caused this on Becky. Im sorry I broke my promise about not having sex until marriage. Im sorry for breaking Becky’s promise. Im so sorry!” He sobbed
This only made me cry harder
Sarah came
I glanced at Alex, Sarah, and Robert
They were all crying hard
I don’t know if Austin deserves to be forgiven
He’s hurt all of us. But mostly Becky.
“Austin. I don’t know if you deserve to be forgiven. Look what you’ve done to Becky! Because of you Becky might not survive! Tomorrow is her last day in life support!” I said sobbing in his shoulder
“I know Mickey! I know!” I think he’s sobbing more than me
We just stayed like that for the rest of the day.
Crying.
Hoping that Becky survives.
