Death
Who knows how long it's been since God seperated him and his love? Well, actually, Death knew... somewhat. He kind of lost count afer the 7th millenium. He's been planning on a way to free himself and Life, all while crushing God under his boot. He turned and walked to the window of his fortress he built himself in the Underworld. It was empty and dark. Nothing but black. Oh how he missed Life, everyday he longed for her touch again. If they were to work together, they could easily destroy God. He sighed heavily. He did enjoy Life's gifts she makes for him, the only company he has in this lonely prison he lived in.
"Oh Life," he said to himself, "We must take out that Tyrant that seperated us, but how?'
He thought for years on end, but ultimately came up with nothing. So he talked to his gifts. The spirits of all, including animals, were able to hear and talk to him. He needed more people. He could never come up with a plan by himself, he wasn't that cunning. He called forth the gifts that he had loved the most. Jack, the human. Jack was always thought of as smart in the real world. He always had straight A's, he had learned loop holes to many strategies and rules in places he worked. He was perfect. Wilhelm, the snake. Willy was the top dog around his area, that was until he was attacked and killed by a bird. And Jimmy, the cross-eyed fish. Jimmy didn't have anything close to the accolades of Jack and Wilhelm, actually he had really nothing to be proud about. Death just liked Jimmy.
"So," Death started his breifing, "I called you guys down here because I need your help. We are going up to Earth and we are taking back our freedom."
Everyone looked confused. The only way something, besides Death, could go to Earth again is if Death exiled them. If that happens, Life will find them and show them the way to Heaven to be, as the legend goes, obliterated.
"And how are we gonna do that, genius?" asked Jack.
"I don't know," Death said, "I called you guys here to discuss a plan that would help us."
"You really are stupid, huh?" asked Wilhelm, "You'll never be able to leave. Listen, Death, you're a good friend of mine. I don't want you risking killing yourself for some girl."
That one statement hit Death hard. Was Wilhelm right? Is it even worth going up there just to, more than likely, die? No, he had to get back together with Life. Everything those two could do if they ruled the Universe would be amazing. But what if she didn't love him anymore? He should probably just stay where he belongs.
"Yo!"
Everyone turned and looked who said that. None of the people there had spoken, so who could've said that?
"It was me," said Jimmy, "I know sure as hell that you ain't thinking about giving up on this. Life is waiting for you to come back to her. She still loves you and always will."
He was right. He couldn't let doubt slip into his mind. If he did, then God would've won. And that scumbag will never win.
"Well, what that fuck do we do?" asked Jack.
"Aight," started Jimmy, "One of us is gonna have to be exiled to make contact with Life. When she comes to us, we have to talk to her and there we will come up with a plan. Now I know it sounds like we're gonna die, which we probably are, but what do we have to lose? We'll talk Life into reincarnating us. And when we die, we will bring back the plan to Death."
Everyone looked around. How did Jimmy come up with that? He's pretty smart too.
"Well who is going up?" asked Jack.
"Rock, Paper, Scissors!" exclaimed Death.
"Wilhelm doesn't have hand, man," said Jimmy.
It came down to picking sticks. Smallest stick went up to the surface. Death gathered and held the sticks, waiting for someone to pick. Wilhelm went first, then Jack, and Jimmy got the last one. They all looked down to compare.
"Best two out of three?"
Jimmy had lost. He had to go up to the surface and face the wrath of God. This was really gonna suck. He had come up with the plan, so it was kind of fitting for him.
"Let's get this over with," Jimmy stated flattly.
"Are you sure you're ready?" asked Death.
"No, but I have to go anyway, I lost afterall,"
Death drew up his circle. He didn't want Jimmy to suffer for Death's selfishness. He shouldn't have tried to come up with a plan. He should've just kept sulking in his self pity.
"You don't have-"
"Yes I do!" Jimmy exclaimed, "You gave me a place to stay, became a close friend of mine, I just want you to be happy!"
Death was surprised. He didn't know that Jimmy cared so much for him. He began crying. He was never alone in the Underworld. He had friends that cared for him and were willing to die to bring Death happiness.
"Don't bring the water works," said Jimmy, "It'll make me feel bad, and you're gonna ruin the circle."
Death looked down and realised he was right. His tears were millimeters away from the chalk line, which would've destroyed it.
"My fault," Death sniffled, "I just always thought I was alone."
