The One in Green

I awoke in the Nurses' office shortly after my ginger king had carried me away to safety, and my skin burned from where his finger tips had been.

"Hey, Y/N. How are you feeling?" an elderly looking woman approached me from her desk in the far corner. Her lips stretched into a smile as she took in my injured self.

"I'm okay thank you, could be a little better, you know. After all I did just get assaulted by the wind in front of the whole school." I said to her with a huff.

The nurse looked slightly taken aback and traces of guilt flooded my insides. I opened my mouth to apologise just as a cough from the doorway cut me off.

Ed sauntered in across the room towards me, wearing the same tight green hoodie from before and holding a football in his large hands. To think he had been holding me with those very fingers made my body tingle.

"I'm here to take Y/N back to class, ma'am." he said casually, staring deeply into the nurses' eyes.

"Yes of course, sir." she gave a quick bow and occupied herself with the other patients.

I thought it was weird how she had to bow down to him, yes he was the hottest person in school. But why was it so important to bow?

"-a song for you, Y/N." Ed said proudly. He smiled to himself as I looked up into his guarded eyes. In reality, I hadn't heard a word of what he said.

"Sorry, Ed. What was that?" I asked, genuinely confused.

He flushed a deep red that illuminated his hair like fire and he looked down with an embarrassed chuckle. The ginger then stopped himself and looked back at me with an expression so cruel I thought he might bite me.

"Come on. We're missing class." he sighed. I was quick to stumble from my resting place on the bed, only to be caught with a quick hand from Mr Sheeran.

"Easy. Easy, cowgirl." he whispered into my ear reassuringly, his plump lips making contact with my skin.

I was quick to stagger away from him in embarrassment and into the halls, where I came face to face with the same crowd as earlier. I inwardly punched myself as I saw the effort on their faces to not laugh.

I felt Ed's hands on my shoulders from behind me, slowly pushing his body against mine to get me to walk forward. His fingers found a sensitive part on my arm and he squeezed, making me jump.

I shrugged his hands off of me and limped away down the hallway, trying my best to ignore the countless people asking about the incident. I heard Ed's frantic pleas for the crowd to part so he could reach me, but I still carried on away from everything.

Luckily, I found an empty classroom to the side of me and I walked in without a second thought, locking it shut behind me. My head fell back against the door as I slid down it with a soft thud, tears threatening to spill.

"You didn't really think that you'd be alone in here, right sweetheart?"
