A/N: Hey my pretty purbles! I decided to do the author's note at the beginning today because yolo. So, I know I am awful at taking time to update (I'll try hard to be better), and I am really sorry! And I know this story has kind of been boring so far but hopefully it's going to start getting more interesting!
So without further adieu....
__________________________________________________________"But why?" I asked my mother for what seemed like the hundredth time.
"Honey, you know I'm not allowed to say anything other than what I've already said--You're going away for a while, and you need to pack just a few things," Mother explained.
I shuffled my feet over to my closet and pulled a few shirts and pairs of pants off the hangers that they so neatly hung from. I scrunched the clothes up into a ball and threw them into the suitcase my mother set out only to have my mother take the clothes out again and fold them tidily.
"If you want to have room in the suitcase to pack things, you have to fold them nicely," she reprimanded.
I sighed, and a long pause followed it. I had no idea where I was going. I don't even know why. I don't know who I'm going with or if I'm even going with anyone! Why am I just being sent away? It's a little frustrating being told you have to pack a suitcase because you're going to be shipped to who knows where, and you don't even get much of an explanation.
I do, however, have a suspicion. Of course everything has been a little different since we started training so that's the easiest explanation I can think of for this "trip".
I stared out the window to see the sky slowly getting brighter. I had to get up earlier than usual so that I could pack my suitcase, and I was extremely tired. "Soooo...you can't tell me anything else?" I interrogated my mother, breaking the silence.
She shook her head. "Sorry."
I glanced at the time and noticed if I didn't start to get ready for school now, I was definitely going to be late. I pointed the time out to my mom and she excused me from packing so I could finish my morning routine, seeing as I was already dressed.
I went through all the procedures I normally did in the morning to get ready, and by the time I was downstairs eating Morning Meal, my mother was lugging the suitcase she had finished packing for me down the stairs. She finally came to a stop right in front of me where I was eating.
"Okay, I packed everything you'll need. Just take your suitcase with you to School House, and they'll tell you what to do from there! Father wishes he could be here to say good bye, but he simply couldn't as you know," Mother explained. She looked at me with sad eyes. "You're growing up-" My mother continued to say other mushy stuff at that point, but I'll save you the torture of reading all that. All I'll tell you is there we tears, hugs, and good byes.
And with that, before I knew it, I was waiting at the meeting spot with Karly, both of us sitting on our own suitcase. Yup, Karly had a suitcase too. So, I believe my suspicions were correct that it's for training. Eventually we saw Charlie making his way towards us, trailing a suitcase behind him.
"Hey!" Karly and I greeted him.
"Hey," he responded. "So what do you think this is all about?" Charlie gestured to his suitcase.
"Training." Karly and I responded in unison. We had already discussed this before he came.
"Yeah, I figured."
We all headed towards School House quickly so we could get there on time. When we arrived, we saw what somewhat looked like a bus but more of an updated version of one. We rarely saw buses here so it was peculiar to see such a fancy one right in front of School House.
We saw students from our class piling in the bus, and Rodger telling everyone what to do. We followed our classmates onto the bus and took a seat that barely looked long enough to seat the three of us. Once everyone had arrived on the bus, Rodger stepped on and quieted everyone down.
"So I'm sure many of you are confused," Rodger started. There were many nodding heads in response. "Well, this is what's going to happen. You guys will be taken to a camp far away from here for more training. This time, however, it will be more of physical training. You'll stay there for the rest of the training and for the Capability Test. You'll all have assigned cabins and roommates. Once we get there, everything will be explained more thoroughly. Are we ready?"
Everyone nodded their heads vigorously, excitedly.
"Alright then," Rodger said smiling, "Let's go!" He sat down on the first seat in the front of the bus and no sooner had he sat down than we took off for the camp.

When we got to the camp, mostly everyone was asleep. It was very dark outside and peaceful. Once everyone was woken up, we were told our instructions and what cabin number is ours and who our partner is. Fortunately, I was partnered with Charlie. Karly was with Valerie. Then everyone piled off the bus.
As soon as I stepped off the bus, I smelled the best smell ever. The smell, though I didn't realize at first, was the smell of fresh air, grass, and rain. Of course we had grass back home, but this was different. It smelled...calming. This grass was soft on your feet. I heard crickets in the distance and it was beautiful! I knew the sound but had never heard it in person! It was amazing.
Charlie and I walked to our cabin. All it was was a bedroom. It had two beds, each with clothes specifically for training layed out for us. There was a closet and a dresser and a nightstand and more normal bedroom furniture. Charlie sat down on the bed, dropping his suitcase.
"Well...this is going to be interesting," Charlie said.
I nodded in agreement. "Definitely."
Since it was late, we both changed into our sleeping clothes. Then we sat on our beds just talking about things like what we think the training will be like tomorrow and how long we think we'll be here. In the midst of our conversation, Rodger knocked on the cabin door and walked in, despite us never saying "Come in."
"Lights out guys," Rodger instructed then left for the next cabin.
Charlie and I said good night and crawled under the covers in each of our beds. Charlie turned the lights out and soon I was taken over by sleep.
