•Logan's POV•
When I heard I was working with Karina, I didn't really stress it. I mean I know we hadn't talked, but I thought she was over it."What's up, Karina?" I asked her. She turned he head, avoiding me I guess.
"Used to be perfect, until you walked over," she shot at me.That took me back. Okay, I kind of expected it, but still. I chuckled to get the feeling out of my head.
"Whoa whoa whoa. You're still not over our little incident two whole years ago?"
I tried to make things clear. She's still not over that yet? Come on."It wasn't little. And if you don't remember, you broke my leg two years ago. And my shoulder. I have a very good reason to hate you."
Okay, that's a good reason. I guess. But still. Two whole freakin years. Still!?
We sat in silence. It was awkward. To shatter the silence, as Karina always said, I spoke up.
"We-we need a slip," I began. she didn't hear. She was too busy being wrapped up in her journal and staring into space. At me. Awkward. I tried again, a little louder that the first. "Um, hello? Earth to Karina?" She blinks about three times before paying attention. I chuckle. I can see her cheeks turning rosy, but then a split-second later glares at me. That escalated quickly.
"What." She responds with a harsh tone.
"Okay. For starters, you're staring at me. I know, I'm hot, right?"
I can see the sparks in her eyes. She crosses her arms and laughs. "As is. If you were hot, you do have a girlfriend. And where is she? Hmm?"Thanks. You're so nice.
*Note that I'm being sarcastic. Okay? Okay."Okay, fine," I reply, "You know we still need to get a slip, right?"
"I'll go get it," she quickly responds.
Okay then.
She hurries out of her seat, practically running away from me.Again, thanks. You're so nice.
*Note that I'm being sarcastic. Again. When she comes back, she hands me the slip. Okay, finally, something to break the awkwardness. I read it aloud.
"Create a skit or play where a girl and boy meet on the streets and fall in love."
Ooh, romantic. I wiggle my eyebrows, hopefully to make her laugh. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. She just groans.
How can this get any worse.
