Chapter 1

"No, No! Stop! Please just leave me alone!" I screamed as loud as I could for help. Suddenly, it was jet black and someone was shaking me.

"Wake up Zara, wake up!" Zakia said constantly shaking me. "What happen? I heard you screaming, so I rushed up stairs. To my surprise you were asleep."

I quickly said nothing with a blank face. She knew something was wrong, but she didn't have the words to say it. I can tell when my little sister is worried about something, even me. However, I was bewildered about the thought of someone putting a gun to my face. Things like this can not happen in the world; I just can't imagine it. I took my phone out, and saw Jaelan had texted me.

(TEXT MESSAGE)

Jaelan - Hey bug!

Zarah - Hi, Jaelan!

Jaelan - You at the house stink head??????

Zarah - Yep. Just me and Kia. Moms at work.

Jaelan - You want company??

Zarah - Yes!! Free me from boredom!

Jaelan Townes is my boy bestfriend. We have always been together from the time we were five all the way till the age we are now which is sixteen. Our birthday is on the same day too, and he only live five minutes away. KNOCK! KNOCK! I heard the door Jaelan do the special knock we always did when entering each other houses. I opened the door to my room. My sister opened the door as always to our house expecting it was someone for her. The footsteps of Jaelan feet were unusal, usally he would stump up the stairs ignoring my mother telling him to stop. I got out of the bed and thought maybe I should greet him. "What's wrong?" I said standing at the door.

"Nothing Zar. Can we listen to some music?" I knew right away something was wrong. To take away our feelings, Jaelan and I always listened to music. It is just something about every song that get things out of our mind or at least just deep thought. (By the way my name is Zarah Thomas, and they cal me Zar.) Without hesistation I put my phone on Pandora and grabbed my cube speakers. Jaelan was already laying on my bed, so I laid right beside him. Without a doubt, Jaelan was a straight up player. He could get any girl he wanted at Oak Grove High School. And hey, don't get me wrong but my bestfriend was good looking and had great abs. He was 6'3 tall, darkskin, and he had pearly whites to top it off! Jaelan is also the starting point guard for the Oak Grove Knights two year championship team in a role.

Finally, the commercials went off. Trey Songz "Sex Ain't Better Than Love" came on first. Getting out of his gloomy spirt, Jaelan started singing. Listening to him made me smile. Jaelan got up and started dancing with his shirt off like always as if this is his house too. He made me get up and dance with him. I had no other choice but to. However, the song got so good that I began to dance peaceful. Then, Jaelan turned me around to where my back was laying on his chest. I started moving my body like I was giving Jaelan a lap dance. It must have felt good to Jaelan because he had a strong grip on my ass. I stated twerking on him before you know it. SLAM! Zakia had left the house probably with one of her friends. I wasn't surprise her busy self can't stay at the house for two hours. Jaelan kissed me on the back of my neck as we continued dancing together. I was not surprised when Jaelan kissed me until now when he kisses me again and again!

I did not know where this was going, so I stop it before anything else happened! "Jaelan what are you doing? What about Nicole?"

He gave me the wtf look. "Do you really think I care about her?" He paused and then continued. "You right. We bestfriends. Let me stop because I know you don't like me that way! And I'm an ugly fool!"

Now I'm so confused because he ain't making no sense at all! "Dude what the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Me and Nicole broke up because she thought we were to close! But I tried to tell her you don't even like a niggah! And my mom and dad got into a big argument! I'm just fucked up all the way! I need some love and affection! Pandora and lotion ain't doing it!"

I was laughing so hard because even when he is in his feelings he has no chill! Jaelan has always been the dramatic dude for no reason! But I had to be there for my Day 1 Niggah! So I told this niggah to lay down and vent to me!
