Connection

We watch as the Earth was revolving,
after all it was meant to be moving.
Yet we are still together,
sitting here holding each other.

Holding your hand,
in this foreign land.
I'm looking into your eyes,
where every emotion lies.

We sit here and talk about life,
imagining life if I was your wife.
Holding you tight every night,
kissing our children good night.

Then I felt something strange,
I know something had changed.
Then suddenly I looked up to you,
but it was a younger version of you.

Before I knew it I blew out a curse,
realized the Earth revolved in reverse.
Came to a point I don't know who you were,
mindlessly sitting beside a stranger.

I'm not even bothered being with a stranger,
even when you are holding our hands together.
We didn't let go of the connection,
and I didn't even have a notion.

Guess we'll always have a connection,
regardless of the Earth's motion.
You were meant for me,
as I was meant for thee.
