Night Watch
the beginning

It was around 9:00 PM, y/n and paimon wasn't feeling tired, so they decided to patrol around mondstadt for the night.
"how do you like it so far y/n? The windblume festival" questioned paimon. "It's wonderful! I've never experienced something like this before. Very memorable." Answered y/n. Both y/n and paimon walked outside of mondstadt's bridge and went to Windrise for a quick night watch. It wasn't really late that time, but paimon is already tired of walking or should I say.. floating.
"Is it just me or is it getting a little boring...?" Commented y/n. "There are no hilichurls or enemies around here"
"well we should—"
paimon got interrupted by a loud "Yahoo!" A familiar voice echoed their ears, both of them stopped walking and turned their backs.
They saw venti waving at them while walking. "Ah! Venti?? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in bed..?" Questioned paimon. "Oh come onnn! Archons don't sleep! Well.. maybe but I'm not sleepy right now, so i decided to stroll around for a moment" answered venti cheerly.
"Perfect timing! We were patrolling for the night since we're not tired yet. Care to join us?" Offered y/n. "Of course! I have nothing to do besides wasting Diluc's amazing dandelion wine everyday.." venti joked around and let out a small chuckle. Paimon laughed and y/n let out an awkward giggle since she's worried about Venti's health.
A sudden rustle from a bush made them jump. "Who's there?!" Y/n screamed as she slowly grabs her sword. Venti decided to investigate but y/n stopped him as soon as she grabs his arm, a loud scream appeared out of nowhere.
"What was that?!" Paimon panicked "let's investigate!" Y/n said. All of them ran to the place where they heard the mysterious scream from and prepare for a sudden battle. "Gaahh! Someone help!" A lady near the huge tree at Windrise is getting charged by hilichurls. "I got this!" Venti said with confidence and began to use his elemental burst. All the hilichurls are gone and y/n rushed to the lady and asked if she got hurt or not.
"Thank you so much! I was doing research on windwheel asters and some random hilichurls appeared out of nowhere!" Said the lady. "You're not hurt are you?" Questioned y/n, worried. "I'm okay! Thanks to you guys! Oh I'm Edith by the way, Dr. Edith". Said the lady. "Ah! Edith! I've heard of you" commented venti "I'm venti, and this is y/n." "Y/n? Ah! The famous traveler?? Such an honor to meet you!" Said Dr. Edith cheerly.
'You know.. the anemo archon is right next to me..' thought y/n.
Y/n let out a giggle. "Well then, i have to go! Again, thank you so much for saving me! I shouldn't have went out this late in the first place.." "here, take these" Dr. Edith gave y/n a basket of fresh apples. "Apples! Yum!" Said venti with sparkly eyes. "Thank you! Have a nice night!" Y/n said. Dr Edith began to walk towards mondstadt.
"She's really nice!" Said paimon. "Indeed, now let's rest for a while. We need a snack too!" Cheered venti. All of them sat below the Windrise tree and start munching those delicious fresh picked apples. "Y/n! I wanna collect some windwheel aster on the other side of the tree, I'll be back!" Said paimon. "Alright! Be careful" answered y/n.
'wait.. did paimon left us so we can have an alone time together...? No no no.. what am I thinking..? I'm not in love or anything!' thought y/n.
"What's wrong y/n? Is everything alright?" Questioned venti "I'm okay!! I was just thinking.." answered y/n awkwardly. Venti let out a hm and decided to take his lyre out.
"Oh? You're gonna sing a song?" Said y/n. "Mhm! Do you want me to sing a song for you, y/n?" Questioned Venti "Ah! Of course! I love your songs" said y/n. "How lovely, i made a song just for you!" Said venti, and he began to play a soft lullaby for y/n while looking at the sky full of stars.
Y/n got a little tired and sleepy so she decided to put her head on Venti's shoulder. Venti smiled softly and decided not to move because he doesn't wanna bother y/n's comfortable position. Y/n eventually drifted off to sleep.
"Tehe, you're really adorable y/n".
