Bella

''Ash,'' I murmur for the second time today. I can hear people shuffling around me, bags being torn open by what appear to be paramedics.

''Bella, it's going to be okay,'' I hear Jackson assure. I have been awake for the grand total of about 5 minutes, and all I have heard is Noah and Jackson shouting my name. I don't know what time it is, and how I even managed to survive, but I'm happy.

I get to see Ash again.

''Ash,'' I groan, my teeth rubbing against each other in fear. I have tried to answer the medics' questions, but the only thing that is coming out is his name.

''What is Ash?'' One of the women questions, turning her head up towards Noah. I can barely see, the dizziness still overwhelming me. I feel lightheaded, my whole body freezing within an inch of my life.

It's like being placed in an ice bath. The blanket on top of me is a poor attempt at heating up, and appears to be doing nothing for me.

''Her boyfriend, Ash is her boyfriend,'' I hear Noah reply. I can barely make out his face, but he sounds sick. I begin to question why and how the two got here, but I care more about Ash's safety.

''Bella love, did Ash do this to you?'' The woman questions, tilting my head slightly to check for any apparent neck injuries.

''No,'' I choke. I don't know why I lie to her, but at the moment, it feels like the right thing to do.

''Who did this to you?'' She extends, trying to get an answer.

''I- I don't know,'' I cry, attempting to move my arms up to my neck. It is pulsating, the adrenaline that once flooded my body now gone.

It's just painful.

I release another groan as I feel a sharp prick enter my arm, my body being lifted up onto a stretcher. I have been on one of these a fair few times, and the comfort level never gets any better.

I can hear the medics talking around me. It's never new for them to see injuries like this, thousands get killed every day, just not usually as young as me.

Normally, we aren't supposed to survive.

''She's so cold,'' Noah hisses, running closely next to me. I can see three recognizable faces: Noah, Jackson, and what appears to be Peter. He is stood with a few others on the police force, and they are assessing the area.

There wasn't much damage caused, maybe a little blood, but, if Ash has left, it's likely he wouldn't leave any evidence.

My mind stings painfully at the thought of him leaving me to die, but I shut it out, focusing on my surroundings.

''How are you feeling?'' A bearded man questions from above me. It's bright outside, and my eyes sting with the short burst of light I get to view. It disappears in seconds as I am moved into the ambulance.

''Mmm,'' I mumble, unable to respond any other way. I hope he takes that as bad because I definitely not feeling great.

I feel physically sick and drained at the same time. The last of the adrenaline rushing through my body is fading, leaving me with straight pain and confusion. My head is banging with distress, causing my vision to blur.

''Jackson?'' I squeal, wanting someone I know to stay with me.

''They will be at the hospital when we arrive,'' One of the people declares, not stopping her assessment of me for a second.
