Starbeam: The Sad Story of Sunbeam

As you all know, Starbeam, Wonderbeam, and Boost take care of and protect the town of Somerset. However, there was one more superhero once, before Zoey was born. Whatever happened to him? You are soon to find out.

It was a nice cool day, and everyone was doing their normal things. Henry was over at Zoey's house playing with her, but at the current moment, they were watching Nickelodeon.

Down in Beam Control, Gramps was practicing on his cello. Wonderbeam was on the computer, Kipper was also sleeping as usual. The episode of SpongeBob that was playing on the TV was the one where he got damaged doing a stunt, so he decided to stay indoors until Sandy and Patrick needed his help.

After the episode was over, both Henry and Zoey got up.

  "Man, I don't know about you Zoey, but I'm hungry!

"Me too! I wonder what there is to eat."

Wonderbeam had heard this and so she walked in and asked them what they wanted.

"Some PB and JS will be fine." said Zoey

"Okay honey." said Wonderbeam. And she began making the sandwiches.

Just then, Gramps took the lift back up to the house from Beam Control.

"Hey there you two! what are you eating"

"PB and J's" They both said.

"Oh yummy!" said Gramps. "I wouldn't mind one myself!" and so they ate their sandwiches

But something was weird about Wonderbeam that day. She looks rather sad and it wasn't only Zoey who noticed this, but also Gramps. Henry noticed it, but he felt like it wasn't his place to say anything, as wasn't part of the family really.

"Oh dear" thought Gramps. "She's thinking about him again."

After finishing his sandwich, he took Wonderbeam to another room, and presumably talks to her.

After she comes out, she seems to be better but she's still not exactly happy.

Zoey signaled for Gramps to come over.

"What is it Zoe Zoe?"

"What's the matter with Mom Gramps?"

He didn't know what to say.

Of course, he knew exactly what was wrong, but didn't want to tell Zoey just yet.

Even though Zoey had whispered to Gramps, Wonderbeam still heard it.

  "It's-it's okay Dad."

"She deserves to know."

Henry did not even need to be told to get out of the room, he did just that because he knew it wasn't his place.

Then Zoey, Wonderbeam, and Gramps sat down in the living room.

"Zoey, you really want to know why I'm upset don't you?"

"Of course Mom." said Zoey. "I don't want you to be upset. You've always told me to talk about things."

"That you're right Zoey."

"Zoey, I think it's about time that you know what happened to your father." said Wonderbeam

"Oh okay." said Zoey

"I'm just going to come out and say it right now Zoey."

"Your father, He, he died."

Zoe was absolutely shocked.

"Died!"

"But I thought you two had a-"

"Divorce?" Wonderbeam continued finishing her daughter's sentence.
