When someone loses someone there are many ways one can act, some to act out in anger others in sorrow. Others block the ones they love out in hope of leaving the sorrow behind them. In the lives of three beings an event occurred that shook them at their very core; it crippled them made them hurt deep inside.

Pain is hard to deal with in the best of cases, it is just that thought in the back of your mind that is always there. In the worst it is a raging torrent of overwhelming sorrow and guilt that tears at your heart as well as your soul. Pain like this doesn't just go away it lingers for a long time no matter how you deal with it.

On a far away planet that no human has been to well at least not yet, live three matriarchs. One of Blue, another of Yellow and lastly one of White. They are the rulers of this broken planet. There used to be four but alas they last one fell at the hands of her own subject.

Residing on this planet was a society of intergalactic beings that colonize other planets to grow their own. They kill organic beings without mercy, considering them inferior beings to themselves. The way they live is based on the energy that their gems give them. A Gem can be located on any place of their bodies.

The Diamonds being the highest in power, the rulers so to say. As we speak the Matriarch of diplomacy, Blue Diamond was in a state of sorrow. Gems in her presence were forced to cry, sob even. So bad they were rendered immobile. An effect of the blue haze that consumed them, also known as Blue's aura. The reason for such a scene was because of tragic news, news that one of their own had perished. At the hands of one of their own creations no less.

The news came as a shock to the cerulean goddess, not in a million years did she expect to lose the little Diamond. Though here she was mourning over the loss of the pink gem, she was in shards floating in a bubble before her. The pieces of her gem glittered in what little light was seeping into the dark palace room.

As she watched it float before her, tears cascading down her face like a waterfall. Letting out choked sobs of sorrow. She blamed herself for this, for losing her precious little pink. Her fists clenching onto the fabric of her robe as her back was hunched over. The only other gem in the dark room washer pearl, who was used to the tears though she still had a few trickling down her face.

The blue matriarch lifted her head, so her face was in clear view it was filled with pain. Eyes having bags under them from how long she had been crying without any sort of rest. Though gems didn't need rest she used to take breaks, going to her extraction chamber. She couldn't do so anymore for the pain she felt in her gem at the memories was too much for her to bear.

Little did she know her sobs could be heard by her diamond companions Yellow and White. They both cared deeply for Blue, though White was less vocal about it. There was a gentle knock on the door and then a pause as if the being on the other side was waiting. Blue lifted her head, doing her best to dry her tears she answered.

"Yes?..." she asked her voice raspy, a sign that all she has been doing in days is crying and not talking at all. The door opened slightly, the tips of yellow fingered gloves could be seen. This starkly contrasted the deep rich blues in the room. Soon a head poked around the door its color matching that of the hand.

It was Yellow Diamond. Her helmet on her head like always but for once she had a concerned look on her face. She was worried about her fellow diamond as she was the emotional sort. Yellow on the other hand was not; she was rational in her thought process always thinking things through to the fullest.

Blue looked at her with a saddened look and pain in her eyes it was enough to make the golden gem cry even without her aura. She hated seeing blue like this she hated it so much she thought her gem might crack from such a raw emotion. She had come to tell her about an idea her and white had been talking about but now she didn't know if it was a good idea.

Blue opened her mouth parting her plump deep blue lips parting as she went to speak. "Yellow? What are you doing here?" she asked her fellow diamond . Yellow stepped in giving a soft smile though her eyes were still sad. She closed the cerulean doors behind her the sound of it clicking into place could be heard in the quiet room.

Yellow sighed a little walking over to Blue and sitting down near her. "well you see Blue, White and I have been talking about everything" blue looked at her in a questioning way a little frown forming on her face. She knew what they had been talking about.Pink. Tears started to well in the matriarchs eyes. This in turn made yellow sigh wrapping her arms around her felling diamond.

Blue sniffled, letting Yellow embraced her in the hug, she hugged back as tightly as she could. Her body shaking as she let out choked out sobs. Yellow rubbed her back and gently played with her hair humming softly to her as she let her cry on her shoulder. All this was honestly to much for Blue, in all of Homeworlds history a Diamond was never even destabilized let alone shattered. To say the least it scared her, along with the other diamonds.

Yellow then pulled away once Blue's grip lightened up. "i know this hurts you, it hurts white and me as well. But we have to be strong....we need to be strong for all of the gems that look up to us. To lead them, we are diamonds As diamond we cant show weakness." At hearing this blue took a deep breath in and nodded.

"What is it you wanted to tell me Yellow?" she asked her voice was calmer now though it still trembled as she spoke. The other matriarch let out a soft sigh that seemed to come from deep within her. She took Blues hand in her own giving it a gentle squeeze. Before looking into her eyes with her own piercing yellow, meeting the gaze of her fellow diamond. It looked as if Yellow didn't wish to tell her, though she had to as White asked this of her.

"Well Blue my dear, White had the idea to use are combined powers and blast the planet...this would be a means to end the war." She said in a somber tone, It seemed to hurt her to tell blue this. Blues face seemed to contort into one of pure distress, the planet was pinks it shouldn't be up to them. Then again Pink was no more. So as the diamonds it was up to them to take revenge on those who wronged her.

Yellow waited for any sort of reaction from blue other than her change in expression. Though not much happened it looked as if she was thinking about what to say. A soft sigh came out of the blue goddesses lips, she then brought her hands up to the hood of her shawl. Taking it of so yellow could see her fully in the dim blue light. What was seen wasn't what the general of Homeworlds armies expected.

The ones sparkling ocean blue eyes of the matriarch were clouded over with tears, along with dark colored bags under her eyes. She honestly looked like a different gem than what she did look a few hundred years ago. This rebellion had taken a lot out of the diamonds. Letting out a sighed she slouched in her seat. "oh Yellow...if only we listened to her, If only we were there" she said softly to her self. It was as if she was in her own little world. As if yellow wasn't even there.

Yellow frowned a little this felt as if it was all her fault as she was the one that gave her the colony with Whites permission of course. Though she honestly regretted it now that everything had happened. Now that the dreaded rose quartz took there dear pink away and ruined her colony, turning it traitor on the diamond authority. If only she believed pink if only she had listened.

"I know Blue, I feel the same but we cant stay in the past we need to finish this for her and end this before another one of us is hurt or worse..." She didn't want to say it knowing it may cause Her counterpart to start to cry. Though when Blue looked up, ocean colored eyes, meeting those of a fiery yellow. A sort of understanding was met they both knew what had to be done.

"lets do it Yellow, lets end this once and for all" she said to her in a tone of voice that was cold sending shivers into yellows gem and her whole form. Yellow was not one to be easily phased by things, but hearing blue sound like that. Sound as is her words could shatter a gem. Blue sighed a little she saw yellows reaction and felt bad. Taking the generals strong hands in her own gentle ones she gave them a little squeeze.

"we will do this together, as a family should". She said to yellow with a kind smile. with a look on her face that was gentle, warm and loving. She cared deeply for blue more than any other gem. Well apart from White and pink that is. She stood up and offered the azure diamond her hand a kind smile on her face. One that not many gems get to see.

Blue took it her hold on Yellows hand gentle yet firm as she stood up with and next to the slightly taller diamond. "now to go and get white" she said softly. Yellow nodded and they took there leave of the room. walking through the azur colored walls that slowly started to change to white.
