Flying lessons

Elizabeth sat in the common room with Seamus Finnigan laughing and joking for about an hour before she looked up on to the notice bored.

"Hey is that a new notice?" Elizabeth questioned she hadn't saw it before perhaps she just wasn' paying attention like always that was a bad habit of Elizabeth's that she was trying to get out of.

Seamus laughed "No El that's been up all day we have flying lessons tomorrow after breakfast" he explained to the girl.

"That sounds fun" Really Elizabeth was a little anxious about it all he had never flown on a broom before it scared her.

"Don't be Scared Lizzie you'll be fine I promise"  Seamus said softly and putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Thank you" she said hugging the boy.

"Read to me you always make the book sound more interesting" Seamus said getting up looking for a book.

"Fine just make sure you pick a good book" Elizabeth laughed.

Seamus came back with Alice's adventures in wonderland which had always been one of her favourites.

Elizabeth opened the book and began to read "Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank and having nothing to do. Once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading but it had no pictures or conversations in it"

Elizabeth sat down next to Neville and Harry with Ron and Hermione in front of her "are you all exited for flying lessons today?" Elizabeth asked the group.

They all nodded there head while Neville said "No" fearfully. "Neville don't worry" Elizabeth began " you'll do great"

Midway through breakfast the post arrived through owls like it usually did. Elizabeth got a letter from her parents.

Dear Elizabeth

Im sorry we haven't wrote as often we thought it would be best to leave you to get settled. We hope your enjoying school you know it's where me and your dad fell in love! Maybe you will too just not right now of course plenty of time for that. That was your dad dear incase you didn't realise but I'm sure you did. Are classes going well? Remember to keep studying I'm sure that Hermione girl you mentioned will help you there she dose sound lovely! Do write back to us when you have time darling I love you. I love and miss you sweetheart- dad! Yes I miss you as well

"What's that you've got Neville?" Elizabeth questioned

"Look here Nevilles got a remembrall!" Dean shouted.

After finishing breakfast the group walked outside to the front of the castle where they where Madam Hooch waited for the first years.

"Gather around, gather around... come on we haven't got all day" Madam Hooch yelled.

Madam Hooch was a tall, yellow hawk like eyed witch who had grey cut short hair who wore a plain white shirt, a plain black tie with the four houses on the bottom (identical to the one the first years wear before being sorted) a black robe with the four houses on the right side, plain black leggings and quidditch gloves.

After everyone stood next to a broom Madam Hooch began to speak "First you kick off from the ground hard, then you'll rise a few feet in the air while keeping your brooms steady then come straight back down!" Hooch explained.
