Run.

Running as fast as I could was the only thing on my mind, I didn't even know where I was running or what I was running from. All I could remember up until this point was that I needed to keep running, somewhere far away from where I was. There was a tingle on the back of my neck and I knew it wasn't just from the night breeze. Someone was close by and they were getting closer with every step I took, I could feel their presence behind me.

"Why do you run from us?" A distorted voice spoke, I couldn't tell what direction the voice was coming from but it felt like it was right in front of me.

My breath got caught in my throat as those words played in my head. My lungs felt like they were going to collapse if I kept going but I knew I had to, I could feel the murderous intent behind the unknown voice. If I stayed where I was I was going to die.

"You don't want to be my friend?"

This time the voice came out just below a whisper and it was a child's voice. I looked around desperately for answers as my feet began to sink into the ground.

"Help! Let me go." I cried squirming as much as I could trying to release myself from the grip now just above my ankles.

"You really thought you could escape us?" The voice spoke again from the shadows, it was closing in on me but I couldn't move.

"Leave me alone!" I screamed collapsing to my knees being unable to struggle any longer.

"You'll never wake up."

The air around me was thick and I knew the pressure I felt was the doing of the person pursuing me.

"Time for you to join daddy."

My eyes widened as soon as those 6 words rang through my ears. My head snapped up when I felt the thickness reach up to my neck, I was sinking faster now. I hadn't realized that I could no longer move any part of my body, I knew then that I was really in trouble.

"We're coming, Akio."

The voice whispered now directly infront of my ear and his words sent chills through my entire body before I felt something peirce my skin.

A glimpse of red was all I saw before the darkness of the shadows consumed me.

"Check mate."

-----------

"Fuck!" I sucked in a deep breath as my eyes shot open and my hand fisted my shirt at my chest.

I looked around my surroundings seeing my desk and picture frames hanging from the wall. I touched my entire body still feeling the pressure of whatever was sucking me in. I frantically reached out for the glass of water that was sitting by my bed side gulping it down in seconds. I coughed dropping the glass still struggling to get any air into my lungs.

Was I hyperventilating right now?

My hands were shaking uncontrollably as I stood to my feet and pushed my widows open letting in as much fresh air as possible. I took in a long exaggerated breath trying to feel the expansion of my lungs to reassure myself that there was oxygen in them. It seemed to be working because I could slowly feel my body starting to calm down and relax.

"It was just a dream Haruhi, just a stupid dream." I mumbled into the bitter cold air watching as the winds blew through my drapes.

"You're not weak anymore, you're not weak anymore, you're not- you're not weak anymore damn it!" I huffed hurdling over my window seal and onto the roof.

I didn't bother closing or locking my windows, it's not like anyone would find anything in there if they broke in. I had very little belongings in the small living quarters i called home. It was basically a bed, a bathroom, and a small kitchen area. I needed to clear my head, there was no way I was getting back to sleep after that. Everything was extremely vivid, almost like a lucid dream but your worst nightmare. I could still feel the hole in my chest where I was impaled but I was in complete control of my body the entire time. I could have fought back yet I gave up before I even tried to fight back.
