I ran.
I ran as fast as my legs could take me.
It became numb, almost that my brain forgot what I was doing. I was trying to focus on the rhythm of my feet hitting the ground. It was pouring down rain, I wasn't sure if my face was sticky from the rain or my salty tears. My hair was soaking wet and my clothes were stuck to my painful body. I squinted my eyes to see where I was going but all I wanted to do was close them."Emily!!" His voice screamed behind me.
I started to cry, picking up my pace when something hit my toe and pain rushed to my foot.
I screamed out in pain and fell forward, hitting the hard gravel below me. The fall felt slow. I wished it was off a cliff.I didn't move from the ground, maybe because I couldn't. I cried out in pain when I felt the throbbing in my head. My hands tightened into a fist, squeezing dirt into the palm of my hand. I closed my eyes, my body feeling weak. A dark figure lured over me before I felt large hands pick me up from under my arms and carry me in a direction I was unsure of.
