Y/n POV"That's it you've taken enough from the people let's get this over with". I said with a snarl on my face readying my weapon.
Mark had a belly laugh "are you sure you can take me down by yourself beautiful"
I furrowed my eyebrows....what does this sicko even want from me. I looked down at his costume, fitting for a villain but a little impractical for fighting.
"My eyes are up here darling," Mark purred
"Your eyes," I bit out, even as I felt my face color, "are not the parts of you liable to kill me." I kept my gaze locked on his hands - capable as they were of quick, lethal movements. A magician. Now you see their life, and oh whoops, now you don't in a momentos misdirection.
The villain laughed. "Don't worry, I like what I see too."
"No, that's not-" I paused. They liked what they saw. What? My stare shot up on instinct to try and read Mark's expression.
In that instant, I flicked a hand and power shot out from my fingertips, twining around my body and yanking me trapping me in the air.
Mark's expression? Smiling. Definitely smiling.
I cursed and launched into struggling trying to free myself.
He sauntered closer in the meanwhile, leisurely now that there was less risk of getting punched or stabbed, and stopped in front of me. He considered my thrashing for a moment, hands on his hips.
"Really," he said, "who comes up with your costumes? They're practically a public service. Very distracting. Is it a conspiracy?"
"Let me down!" I demanded.
"Oh, relax. My powers would never have got past your shields if there was malevolent intent behind the action. At least not according to my file."
That was....true, but.....I stared at him, wide eyed.
"So, your new, huh?" He asked. "Haven't seen you around much before."
"I can't decide if that's interrogation or a terrible pick up line."
The villain grinned. "Can't it be both?"
I swallowed, staring at the villain, uncertainly. "You're not very professional, are you?"
"This isn't work. More of a.....hobby." He continued to study me. "A social call."
"A social call?" I questioned.
"I wanted to see what I was up against. I'm not here to fight you. At least, not this time. I heard you were assigned to me."
"Right," I said. "And what do you think you're up against?"
Our gaze's met, Mark's heated enough that I felt his breath catch. I swallowed, and could feel the way he tracked that movement too. I was suddenly very aware that the uniform I'd been given was...well, the costume department said it was tight so it didn't impede my movements. Suddenly I was wondering if there wasn't more to it.
"Someone I'd quite like to be up against, if you know what I mean" he flirted at me.
I sputtered. "That's an awful pun."
"Your blushing."
"No I'm not!"
The villain raised a brow.
"Yeah, well," I floundered. "Your outfit is ridiculous!"
"Oh, please, I look fantastic"
I scowled, because he did. Evil shouldn't be allowed to be that gorgeous. I'd never seen the villain before, only ever as a far off speck on a glass plate.
Mark laughed, his amusement only seeming to grow. His gaze continued to roam.
"My eyes," I said, only a little breathlessly, "are up here."
We stared at each other.
"I think," mark said, reaching out to trail a hand up my side. "That we're going to have a lot of fun together. Don't you?"
And as time went on, I was inclined to agree.
