'Noah'

Noah woke up to the sound of his alarm buzzing. If it was any other boring day he would have simply shut it down, but today was special. Today was Charlotte's first day. He didn't know what made him do what he was doing. He changed his shirt thrice and made sure that his hair was all nice. 

"Goodbye mother" He said

"Have a nice day" His mother replied as usual.

He hopped into his car and started driving. The sun was shining bright above and the air seemed sweeter than ever before. 

"LAST ONE TO REACH BUYS LUNCH!" Ava yelled. Today she was with her car. She sure had taken her boyfriend loosing personally.

"I'M IN" Yelled another female voice. It was Charlotte. Noah smiled to himself.

He knew that he was going to win, but he was taken aback when Charlotte overtook them all. Ava tried to overtake her but Charlotte didn't allow it to happen. Noah increased his speed and Charlotte did the same and blocked him. She was good. She blocked both him and Ava at the same time.

"You guys are buying me lunch" Charlotte said as she got off her car at the university gate. 

She was wearing a  pinafore dress. It looked pretty.

"Hey Noah" Florence came walking towards them. "You still haven't texted me."

"Hey Florence." Noah said and started walking past her. He really wished that she would stop annoying her.

"I'll wait for you at the pub tonight." Florence said holding his hand.

"I wouldn't wait if it were me" Noah said

"It's just sex!" Florence said. Noah didn't know how to respond. "You had sex with Amy, Carla, Ginny and almost every one in every five girls! THEN WHY NOT ME!"

"Woooo! one in every five girls!" Charlotte was smiling in amusement.

"Yes! Tell me your criteria! I'll try my best to fulfill it!" Florence said holding both of Noah's hands

"There is no criteria! HONESTLY I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER MAKING OUT WITH YOU!" Noah looked at Charlotte as he said it. She was no more smiling, instead she was looking at Florence with pity in her eyes.

"Let's go" Noah said and Ava and Thomas followed him. Charlotte did not. She stayed back and held the crying girl in her arms.

Noah bought two lunches symbolizing his defeat. He went down to the table where Ava and Thomas sat. 

"Babe open up" Ava said as she put a meatball into his mouth. "How does it taste?" Ava asked

"You wanna try it?" Thomas asked.

"Yea" Ava replied. 

"How is it?" Thomas asked as he dived into kiss her.

"Hmmm its yum" Ava said between the kiss.

"Ava where's your cousin? I bought her lunch" Noah asked

"Ohh I don't know" Ava replied and dived back into the kiss.

"Can you please call her and ask?" Noah asked

"UGH!" Ava stared at him with her deadly stare. She picked her phone up and called Charlotte."Where are you? Noah's got you lunch.........Practice room! Are you alone?.......Ohh soo you have Florence with you. Don't you wanna have lunch?..........Oh ok! All the best persuading his mum!"

"And...."

"Well she is in the practice room with Florence.  She got selected for the semifinals. She had a granola bar and is too excited to eat anything. She has to persuade the mama's boys mother to allow her to dance with him."

"A granola bar! That's what i have for breakfast!" Thomas exclaimed.

"She might eat later on" Ava said and started kissing Thomas again.

Noah felt angry. NO GIRL HAD EVER STOOD HIM UP BEFORE!

It was already 6:30 when he started driving back home. The sky looked marvelous as the sun was setting. He passed by a car on the sideway. He had seen that car somewhere before. He reversed back to see who was in the car. The owner stood on the other side leaning on the door. It was Charlotte. Noah's heart raced. He got out of the car and walked towards her only to spot her crying. 

"Hey" She said

"Hey" Noah said. His heart was racing faster than ever before. He had NEVER felt it happen before.

"Whats up" Noah said to break the silence.

"Hard dicks and helicopters" Charlotte replied. Noah smiled.

"No I am serious"

"I am serious too"

"Congratulations on the selections. I bet you are going to do great in your Semi finals"

"Well don't bet on me. You'll loose all your money." 

"Why? Whats wrong?" 

"That mama's boys mother told me that she would not allow him to dance with me because I came fourth and he came first and would make him dance with none other than the girl who came second."

"Well its not just him you know...there are many other guys."

"Only 9 of us got selected. AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WITH NO PARTNER!"

"Well can you get a partner outside the group?"

"Yes i can, but where am i going to find one within 2 weeks and then practice. This competition means a LOT to me! If i don't get an award then i might NEVER be able to dance again even when i want to. My father will not allow it to happen

Noah didnt know what to say. He was good at ballet. He had been practicing for the last 12 years, but had to give up because of his father. This was his chance to go back on stage. He had wanted to do it for the past year. When he danced he felt peace. He felt alive.

"I can dance"

"This is no chance for jokes"

"I am serious" 

"Can you do Ballet"

"Been doing that for the past 12 years"

Charlotte squealed in excitement. she started hoping around and her hair tie fell off. her hair started flowing with the wind.

"Pretty" Noah whispered

"Huh. What?" Charlotte asked

"Nothing"

"We start practice tomorrow"

"Ok" 

"See you tomorrow partner" She said and got into her car and drove off.
