"Bella Swan"
Alice sighed, utterly annoyed by the fact that she wasn't allowed to approach Bella swan. Edward has been fighting internally with himself about the girl for weeks. Alice wasn't allowed to speak or interact with Bella until he made up his mind. She was only growing impatient.
Alice has only one class with the girl, art. Seeing as, in the physical sense, Bella was older than Alice. She felt entirely frustrated. To Alice Bella was her best friend, the girl just didn't know it yet, and not being allowed to speak to her was beyond frustrating. Alice kept an eye on every decision the girl made, taking extra care to block Edward from her thoughts while doing so.
She grew excited when Edward told Bella that Alice would be the one returning Bella's Chevy to her house. As soon as Edward handed Alice the key, at a human pace, she ran to the truck.
Alice took a deep breath before knocking on the girls door Incase her sweet sent really did distract her. The door, however, swung open before she could know and a slightly surprised Bella appeared.
Why was she surprised? The girl was aware that Alice was coming. Bella's heart beat quickened it's pace ever so slightly. Alice smiled, making sure not to show too much teeth as humans found it frightening, she hoped she appeared friendly. "Um-" Bella began but didn't finish.
She seemed at a loss for words until she shook her head and stood straight. "Hey, Alice." She spoke with a smile. "Good evening, Bella." Alice replied. "Here are the keys to your truck." Bella held out her hand, expectingly. She placed the keys in Bella's open palm, making sure to avoid skin contact.
Bella closed her hand around them and then shoved the keys in her pocket. "Are you going to invite me in? It's cold out here." Alice said teasingly, she knew the cold didn't affect her and that she shouldn't go inside, she was curious about the girls home.
Bella's face suddenly flushed a light crimson. "O-of course." She stuttered, and stepped aside to let Alice inside. Alice knew she shouldn't, after all Edward would be angry with her, but she had grown irritated that he would keep her from Bella for his selfish reasons.
So Alice simply smiled and walked inside the house. Alice has never seen the way she acted as unusual. She attained no memories from her human life, therefor she only ever based her reactions and actions off of other humans.
So it wasn't until Bella asked Alice if she wanted of water, Alice would have to breathe Bella's sent to respond, that she was brought back to the reality that she was so far from human. She was dangerous and she only now felt the pain Edward feels when around Bella. She's fragile, and the last human Alice would ever wish to hurt.
Alice took a quick breath too soon as Bella had began to walk into her kitchen, still waiting for Alice's response. She breathed in too much of Bella's sent, "no thanks." Alice replied as her body went ridged with thirst.
Her throat burned and she imagined grabbing the girl roughly by the arm, enough to break it, and drinking from her until she went limp in Alice's arms. She began to see visions of the dead girl until her mouth filled with venom.
Alice stiffened when Bella came closer. "Are you ok? You look kind of...sick." She tried to bring a hand to Alice's forehead. Alice slapped Bella's hand away with more force than necessary, and moved back putting as much distance between the girl and herself as possible.
Bella flinched back, both shocked and hurt. " I really must be going now, I'm sorry." Alice turned to leave but Bella grabbed her wrist. She yanked away, had the girl not learned the first time that Alice didn't want the girl to touch her, for Bella's sake. Her throat burned. "Let me drive you-" Alice snapped. "I'll walk." She hates the look of hurt that was displayed on Bella's face.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" Bella asked Alice timidly. Why was Bella being so persistent? "Yes." Alice replied, making a promise she knew she wouldn't be keeping. Bella's cheeks flushed pink and she smiled. Watching the blood rise to her face made Alice's throat burn again.
She turned and opened the door. "Bye, Alice." She spoke softly,"goodbye, Bella." Closing the door behind her, Alice took off into the forest. Edward would be pissed.
She crouched low near the river. A deer stood drinking water, a simple prey, Alice thought. It wasn't long before She had her hands around the deers back and broke it. Swiftly Alice sunk her teeth into the limp animals neck.
The blood that filled her mouth wasn't nearly enough. Her throat still raged, as if it were on fire, yet her body was filled completely with blood. Alice has felt Edwards pain in her visions before, when watching to make sure Bella was safe, but this felt far worse.
When she returned home her family was standing in the living room. Edward seemed on the verge of snapping. "you could have killed her." He spoke quick, sharp. "You pose the same threat to her as any of us, Edward." Alice was quickly getting defensive. "You were supposed to stay away from her, now she's involved in both of our lives."
Why should Alice have to stay away from Bella? If Edward decides he didn't want to be in Bella's life then so be it. He isn't the only one who gets to be selfish this time, not after years of moping around. Alice would have spoken to the girl regardless.
"Unlike you, Edward, I know what I want." Alice knew she was being childish. Edward narrowed his eyes. "She could have died." "I was fine, I can control myself." He searched her mind for answers, and though she kept a tight hold on her thoughts, Edward found the answers he was looking for. His body went ridged with thirst.
"You almost killed her!" He yelled. "I should have never trusted you near her." Alice growled, now he was just being hypocritical. Rosalie took this as the opportunity to speak up. "Involving a human girl in any of our lives was ridiculous to begin with. She's nothing but dangerous for us."
Alice was suddenly aware of her judging family's eyes. They were all against her. Alice was alone in this. Even Jaspers eyes were judging her. So she left, another childish thing, she ran away.
