It was time for you to finally get your braces put on. You had your appointment scheduled for 11am on a Thursday morning. You were kinda excited to get your braces because your teeth have always bothered you and now you get the chance to fix it.

You hopped out of your Lyft and stood in front of the building, taking a deep breath, before you started to head in. You opened the double doors and made your way inside.

As you walked into the lobby, you spotted a large, wide spread desk with multiple people working behind it, to which you assumed was the front desk. So you walked up and stood in front of a woman who was talking on the phone. Once she hung up, she directed her attention to you, asked for your name and then started clicking away on her computer before telling you to wait in the lounge area nearby.

You walked over to a lounge with a couple of small couches and seats. There were a couple of other people waiting too, which you expected since this was one of the most popular offices in town.

You sat down in one of the seats leaned up against a wall and sat there for a few minutes, waiting while scrolling through different apps on your phone. But your attention was then redirected once you noticed that someone had sat down next to you.

You slightly glanced over to see a guy sitting two chairs down from you. You then turned your attention back to your phone, not caring about the stranger next to you.

Then as some time went by, you started to get a little nervous, anxiously shaking your leg. It wasn't that you were scared to get your braces, but you heard a lot about them. Like how when you first get them, you're in constant pain and can't eat for like a week. And how sometimes, if you get a spacer, it can move the wrong way and hurt like hell.

You definitely had your share of scary stories from your 'experienced' friends, so you had a reason to be nervous. But you were caught off guard once you heard someone next to you ask, "hey, is this your first time?".

"Um.. is it that obvious?", you said awkwardly, turning to face him.

"Well from the shaking of your leg to the completely spaced out look on your face, it might be a tiny bit noticeable", the guy teased with a faint laugh.

"welp, you're right. It's my first time", you said, trying to shield your nervousness.

"hey, don't worry bout it, you'll be fine", he reassured you, while giving you a warm smile and looking into your eyes.

While still looking into each other's eyes, you opened your mouth to respond, "yea, than-".

"Y/n L/n", a woman interrupted, scanning the area for her next appointment.

"oh, yea that's me", you said, turning away from the guy and towards the lady.

You got up from your seat, walked up to the woman and followed her to a room in the back. Once you were in, she laid you on the dental chair and began to work on your teeth.

She put on the little metal pieces on each tooth and tried to find the right size wires that would fit. And once she did, she asked you what color rubber bands you wanted, put numbing gel, and then put them on, snapped in the wires and finish up.

At the end, she asked if any of the wires were poking your mouth and once you said no, she led you back to the lobby, so you could set up your next appointment in four weeks.

Then you headed out the doors and got in a Lyft to head back home.

.....(4 weeks later)......
