The interview

Caesar Flickerman is dressed up in the same suit as always, the midnight blue one, looking like the heaven. His hair is different though, he's dyed it as green as possible. I smile at it. That's my favorite colour.  But the thing that's worries me right now, is going up at the stage. I will probably fall, and if i do, what can I expect to hear? Laughter? Gasps?

A gong goes off.

"District 6!" Caesar yells, and the crowd applauds.

I know it's my turn, and i see the boy from 6 walking out. He's tall, but very thin. Even I could have killed him. Wait, no! I don't want to kill anyone! But that's what I am going to, abd that's what scares me the most.

"Welcome to Elizabeth Mayers! District 7!" I hear Caesar says.

I turn around to go away, but I'm stopped by a red-headed avox. I have to go out at the stage.

Caesar is supportive, which is good. He hugs me, we have met a few times already.

"Just relax they already love you." He whispers to me. Of course they do. They knew about me before I even got reaped for the games. Because my girlfriend is a previous victor.

I place a smile on my face. The crowd is still applauding. It's hard to relax, but i know I have to. I find my amazing stylist, Tigris, on the upper line, together with the others. My girlfriend Johanna Mason, also my mentor, is looking at me, and smiles.

"We have asked before, but will you tell me how you and your girlfriend - Johanna Mason, which won the games two years ago - met?"

"We were neighbours when we were younger, and we played together every day in our backyards. we became bestfriends after years. Two years ago, she was reaped for the games." I say

"which was horrible for you, right?" he asks, helping me.

"Yes, it was. It was the worst thing I could ever imagine. That was the moment I realized we weren't just bestfriends." I say, my voice almost fade away. Tears arriving in my eyes, and half of the Capitol almost about to cry. "I visited her after the reaping, and I told her to win. I was about to kiss her, but she had already come to close my face, and she asked me something. Something shocking, and important." I take a breath.

"Do you love me?" one girl from the crowd says. Johanna said it.

"Yes." I say. The whole crowd is amazed by this moment.

"May I ask how you managed to score a 10 at training?" Caesar asks. And of course, as cocky I can be, I have to answer like a bitch.

"I did what I'm good at. What else?" I look at Johanna, her eyes wide open, but a smile around her face. He laughs as he usually does to break the ice.

"Do you want to tell me about your family?" He asks, obviously trying to change the theme. Luckily the Capitol people haven't stopped laughing yet. So i have enough time to think of what to say.

I do not want anyone to know anything about my family. But I have to. I need something I am proud of to talk about. And they are the perfect theme.

"Well.. I have an older brother, he just turned 19. He is my idol. He's strong, and we have been training together everyday." I say. Smiling to Caesar. "My whole life."

"He sounds like a great guy." He smiles to me, and turns his head to the crowd. "Don't you think folks?!" A round with yelling and laughter. I try to ignore them. I let out a small laugh myself. I miss him.

"What's the funniest thing you two have done together?" He asks, and everything gets quiet.

We have done a lot of things that i want to say, but I can not tell. In District 7 the peacekeepers do not actually care what we do, as long as we have done our work. If I tell the Capitol me and my brother have been outside the District, he will be taken away from our babysister and our two fathers, and I can not do that to him, not now when he's safe from the reaping forever.

"Well.. there was this time when we were out running, and we met two peacekeepers. They stopped us and asked a few questions, and we answered the questions, and everything went just fine until the final question." I say.

"Oh, what was that question?" Says Caesar.

"They asked fo-" is all i can say before the sound of a gong disturbs me. My interview is over.

"Elizabeth, District 7!" He yells at the crowd and hugs me.

I walk out, and my green leaf dress turns brown.

"Nice outfit" George, my district partner, says and look away from me. Obviously angry.

"Well, I like your dead-tree scarf." I say, turning away from him and walk away.

Caesar introduces him. Wearing an ugly pair of brown tights, and a drawing of a tree on his stomach. He does not answer many of the questions he gets, and Caesar can't find anything else to talk about, than how strong he seems and wonders how he only got a 7 at training. George just nods.
