"𝓖o" was the last thing that Itachi heard from the hokage before leaving straight home.

He jumped endless buildings racing time, surely enough, it must've taken a giant blow to get rid of Itachi's clone. And an even bigger suspicion to figure out it was a shadow clone.
Unless she intended to hit the real Itachi with the same monstrous strength she hit the clone with, which made him shiver at the thought.

When he got home, he noticed nothing out of the ordinary. Except that (name) wasn't home, he searched through their bedroom, the 2 bathrooms, the guest room, and even the small basement that he's never been in. She was gone.

"𝙎𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙤𝙪𝙩, 𝙄𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞"

His mind recollected the Hokage's words. Did she know? That same sentence echoed in his mind, how could she possibly know? And if she did, did she know the truth?
After determining she was definitely not in the house, he set out to find her.

Tracking her now would take hours. Time was something that did not lie in favor for him. He started off in the village's heart, the shopping stores. Unfortunately, no sign.
He passed the village's school, all entrances, hospital, he even went as far as checking the nearby forests. Though, not to his surprise they did not seem to know where the girl was.

She couldn't have gone far. She was still an outlander, there was no place she could go where she wouldn't be spotted.
For the first time Itachi began to feel a sense of panic. Mind you, the uchiha was a very worrisome man, however the thought of [name] becoming lost alone was more than enough to cause an unpleasant feeling in his stomach.
The search began to feel desperate—his pace had begun to change into a rapid increase. His thoughts had clouded his judgement, something unusual for him.. and a bit overwhelming at that.

And then it hit him.

He stopped on a tree branch just before the village's first entrance.
If he had wanted to clear his head.. where would he go?

[Name] was sure she would be found soon. Although she didn't think it would take long, however it had given her time to think.

She had come up with a game plan.

Itachi would find her.

And thats all she had come up with so far. She moaned in frustration, just what is going on?
She looked at the ring on her finger, slowly turning it round her skin.

She began sliding it off, and on.
Off and on.
Off and on.
Off.

Why was she doing this anyway?
For the peace of her father's relationship with the hokage? For this village? Who've only treated her like a village harlot? Maybe she would better off without the stupid eye.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

She immediately looked up, and as her eyes landed on the stranger she jumped onto her feet. "Who are you?"

As a skilled ninja, she would've known better than to look up before backing away. However, because she had been stuck in thought she had let herself think whoever the voice belonged to had to be her fiancé.

"A.. distant relative"

What kind of distant relative would wear a mask?
He noticed the girl's confusion,
"Tell me [name]-san, am I invited to the wedding?" He questioned, taking a step closer to her causing the [hair color] haired woman to back away.
"I mean no harm" he clarified.

"Then why ar-"

"Unless of course you are causing a problem"
"What?"
"And unfortunately for you dear [name], it appears our most valuable player has taken an unexpected liking to you."

Before she could say anything, she was already on the floor with a tingling sensation of a warm liquid dripping from her head.

"You idiot! You weren't supposed to make her bleed!"
"Y'know she's kind of hot.."
