More than Friends - Chat Noir/Adrien x Reader [Editing]

Saving the Day

Running away from Adrien, I headed to the exit. Once outside I slid down the door and looked at the moon. It sure looks beautiful.
My kwami came out of my purse. She looked at me with a distressed face. From my understanding, kwamis are able to feel what their masters feel too. Or at least that's how Fluff is.

Sometimes I feel like ending my job as a miraculous holder and escaping to the moon. Maybe I can befriend the moon rabbit.

Remembering I have to save Adrien from the akuma I quickly stood up. I can't risk hurting another friend. I turned towards Fluff and weakly smiled.

"Let's do it!" I said as I raised a fist in the air. Fluff seeming happy again. I looked at the direction of some screams, the signal for me to transform.
"Fluff, let's hop!" I said as my kwami got absorbed by my pocket clock and I began to transform into 'Lapin'

I entered the movie theater again and rushed to find Adrien. However, even for a superhero, this was a difficult task. Now, where would a supermodel hide? I looked around the place I last saw him, hoping nothing bad happened to him. Then I hear footsteps cautiously approaching me.

"Hello there cotton tail, you don't happen to see a young girl with [h/c] hair and [e/c] eyes hide around here?" I hear someone say behind me, by the way they talked I knew it was none other than the great Chat Noir.

"I can't say I haven't" I moved around to face him, "I took her to a safe place, she mentioned coming here with... a friend. Have you seen anyone around here?"

Chat seemed to be thinking. "Oh the model?" He finally said, "Yeah I took him somewhere far from here" I was relieved, at least I know he's safe. Now comes the hard part. Fighting akumatized Marinette.

My thoughts got interrupted by several screams. That's right, we still gotta save the rest. I lifted my gaze to meet with Chat's face dangerously close to mine.
"What are you doing?" My mind was too focused with saving Marinette that I didn't process the fact that my crush was here with me.

He approached me until I could feel his breath close to my face.

My heart is beating so loud it might burst, but I don't want it to stop. Should we really be doing this right now?? What about Marinette-

"I never noticed your eyes have heterochromia" chat said as he increased the distance between us. "Huh?" I was beyond confused. "It will be easier for me to find your real self~" he said as he chuckled slightly.

My face suddenly became even hotter from the embarrassment. I can't believe I really thought he would do something like that. Where is my mind at? (Y/N) control yourself. I shake the thoughts out of my head and heavily sighed to regain my composure.

"How about we focus on defeating the akuma first?" I smiled as I ringed his bell and looked around, "Ladybug should arrive soon" I said as I started heading toward the direction of the screams.
Upon arriving I call out to the akuma in order to grab her attention and direct her to somewhere with less people. She heard my calls and started following me.

We ended up at the highest floor of the mall. It seems no one is here, they all have been evacuated. Good.

"So what do we have here?" Chat said upon arriving. "I can't tell where the akuma is" I started, "plus Ladybug hasn't arrived yet, without her we won't be able to purify the akuma."

"Have you tried calling her?"
"Yes, and she won't answer" I sighed, guess we'll have to fight on our own.

Too focused on our conversation, we failed to notice the akuma approaching us. Marinette swung at Chat Noir, successfully landing a hit on him. I didn't knew she was so strong. Chat was sent flying into my direction, knocking me. We both crashed into a jewelry shop's window. The wedding rings landing in our heads, as Chat quickly turned to face me. "So when's our bunnymoon?" Chat Noir had the audacity to make a pun.

I quickly stood up, not having any time for his childish charm.
"Oh come on, don't be mad, be hoppy" Chat chuckled as I stood up, determined to fight the akuma.

"You guys can still fight? How lucky" Marinette said as she tried to hit us again. We avoided her attack as I tried to find where the akuma is located. I have no idea how Ladybug is able to do this so quick.

As we are fighting I realize Marinette doesn't open her left hand, which means the akuma must be hiding there.
"Try to open her left hand, that must be where the akumatized object is at" I tell Chat as I take cover from another hit. He nods and charges towards Marinette, but as he was about to open her hand Marinette hit him with a weird magic attack, making him trip and fall.

"Just like a black cat, out of luck" Marinette said as I watch Chat Noir trying to stand up but trip again, hitting his head on the floor.
I tried to think for a strategy. Taking in consideration neither of my partners can help right now.

Marinette tries to hit me but I cover myself with my weapon, quickly trying to think of a plan. Wow, I see how much we need Ladybug now. The fighting kept going, a mix of blocking the akuma's attacks and Chat being unable to stand up. As I tried to hit her with my weapon, the akuma grabs it with both hands. "Bingo" I say and proceeded to open my umbrella, making the akuma open their hands and the akumatized object to fall on the floor.

I noticed it was a bracelet, but it was too familiar. I made this bracelet for Marinette when we were kids, my first friend aside from Adrien. I step on it and a butterfly comes out of it.

"Hey Kitty, are you able to land on your feet now?" I turned to face Chat, the effect seeming to reduce once the akuma was defeated. "Yeah yeah pretty funny" he said slightly annoyed.
"Ladybug is not here to purify the akuma, you should try destroying it with your cataclysm" I said, which surprised him
"Do you think it will work?"
"It's worth a try" I smiled
Chat Noir destroyed the akuma with his cataclysm, hopefully it worked.

As I turn towards Marinette, I notice she is back to normal. Sitting in the ground and looking down with such a guilty aura that could cause Hawkmoth to akumatize her again. I sit in front of her, not knowing what to say or do.

Maybe who she really needs to talk to is (Y/N)...

——-(Marinette's POV)———
How could I allowed this to happen. I'm such a disappointment, leaving my partners alone. Maybe I'm not the right miraculous holder.

"Such a mess huh" I hear the voice of Lapin say in front of me. "Do you want to talk about it?"
I sighed deeply, "My emotions got out of control"
"I see, remember there will always be people who listen to you" I heard her say as she hands me my bracelet. I finally lift my gaze and look around me, seeing everything destroyed. Oh no, I should really fix this.

"Thank you" I say as I stand up, "I have to go help my parents with the shop" I run away from them.
Stopping not too far away from them, Tikki appears next to me. "Marinette you're safe!! I'm so glad!" She exclaims as she flies towards me.
"Yeah... I'm so sorry for all the trouble I caused" I said as tears threatened to fall. "I don't think I should be Ladybug anymore"
"Don't say that Marinette! Even the best miraculous holders make mistakes. It is part of being human" Tikki said as she hugged my cheek "Right now they need you Marinette, you're the only one who can fix this!"

"Miraculous Ladybug!"

A/N: I was going to continue this chapter but it got too long, so I'll leave it in this small "cliffhanger"?
Since I started this fanfic before the other miraculous were released, I had to make some changes in order to follow the original universe (ie. kwami, hero outfit, miraculous)
I have a lot of ideas for the following chapters, and now that I am in vacation I hope to update more regularly.
